Secular Humanist here! And I'm proud to be 'Good Without God'! I'm more good without God than I was with him that's for sure!
I agree with Wobble's way of putting it.

To be able to actually "see" Christ...? Simple. Take a lot of drugs. Or stop taking the ones you're pescribed. Either one, depending on your state of mind.

Reading this post AGuest I'm very concerned about your mental health. I'm no doctor, but if you're experiencing these kinds of vivid hallucinations, I would definately recommend getting yourself to one pronto!
What you're describing sounds like you're suffering from some kind of psychosis, which can cause extremely vivid 'visions' and cause you to hear voices."Psychosis is a loss of contact with reality, usually including false ideas about what is taking place or who one is (delusions) and seeing or hearing things that aren't there (hallucinations).
There are many possible causes:- Alcohol and certain drugs
- Brain tumors
- Dementia (including Alzheimer's)
- Epilepsy
- Manic depression (bipolar disorder)
- Psychotic depression
- Schizophrenia
- Stroke

Much of my self loathing disappeared, yes. Because I realised that being a bad Witness actually made me a good person, not a bad one! I wasn't wrong about all the things I thought like people had been telling me, trying to make me feel like I was the black-sheep. I felt the way I did because I actually cared about people and I cared about their lives and their freedoms over my own reward. If felt great!

Welcome Boh!
First off Boh, Jehovah is just the name of the God in the Christian Bible. Some people call him Jehovah, some people call him Yahweh. But he is not only the God of the Jehovah's Witnesses. He is also the God of the Catholics, all the Christians and Jews. You do not need to become a Jehovah's Witness to worship this God.
But I would urge you to do research before deciding which God to worship, if any! After all, it is a very big thing deciding to dedicate your life to the worship of a certain God. You need to be sure that it's all true first, right? So my advice would be to do lots of research into both the religion and the God. :) -

I'd really like the option to upload my own avatar and edit my bio at some point. I kind of feel like just a screen name with no identity here...

Aw, I'm both happy and sad for you. It's so great that you can see your family again, but it's so awful that you have to hide you true self and rejoin the group that's holding them hostage to do so. :(

"It is our Personal Responsibility to Turn In People who are Sinning"
by WalkTall inat the last two meetings i have been to, two brothers mentioned in their parts that we have a personal responsibility to turn in someone we know who is involved in wrongdoing.
they both said we need to do this out of love and because we could also lose our own relationship with jehovah if we fail to do so.
it struck how odd this all is.

We were told that if we didn't tell on 'sinners' then we'd be blood-guilty if they didn't make it through Armagedon and we might not make it through either.
