The JEHOVAH game (a modern fetish)
by Terry in1.we use a name to distinguish one entity from another to avoid confusion.. 2.if there is only one of something it is one of a kind.
elivis is elvis and those who pretend to be him are impersonators.
those who pretend to be jesus are false or pseudo-christs.

Ya know it's funny I remember watching Highlander the series, and I remember it being mentioned in one episode that the Jews didn't HAVE a devil til they were captive by the Bablyon. I looked it up..and it was TRUE I almost fell over. There is no mention of a devil or anything til after that. Sure Satan is there, but he is considered just a naughty trouble making angel, and only mentioned in Job, 1 chronicles where he get david to number the people. but the term DEVIL isn't there til the NT, and suddenly used quite heavly I might add.

whose hiding in the toilets at the kingdom hall?
by highdose inthis was a favorite way of getting away from the very unloving "loving brothers and sisters".
hide in the toilets, no one can collar you and tell you off.
and even better you won't be in amongst a group of people but still feeling so alone... at least you will actauly be alone!.

my issue isn't with teh name but the lack of reverance they seem to have for it. they toss the name out there willy nilly. Without even the title identifying him as GOD the Almighty.. It's like there talking about the family dog..
Has anyone found that when they pray and Didn't use the name everyother word or at all and was actually respectful. It felt like your prayer was heard for the first time. I had that experience the first time and everytime since.. finally felt close to God and cared about for the first time. Even witnessed my prayers being answered. A kinda of miracle if you will. Anyone else have that happened?

did you like being called "brother" or "sister"?
by highdose ini always found it very patronising, particulay as most of the jw's who did that treated me very badly and not like a sister at all!.
i also hated when brothers would say " i've met a lovely sister and i'm planning to marry her!
" sounds so incestuous!

It always bugged me how they use it as a title. I mean they profess to be on a FIRST NAME BASIS with GOD..that they alone are special enough to use his name.. and they use it ALOT. Not even putting a respectful title infront of it, like Jehovah God, or Father Jehovah.. its usually Jehovah. But every person in the hall had a title...except God..that always struck me as wrong. I remember getting yell at by a family member when I called a brother by his first name.....mind you I was in my mid 20's at the time. lol

Crisis of Conscience page 23
by Butterflyleia85 in"the society's vice president, fred franz, was acknowledged as the organization's principal bible scholar.
on a number of occasions i went to his office to inquire about points.
to my surprise he frequently directed me to bible commentaries, saying, "why don't you see what adam clarke says, or what cooke says," or, if the subject primarily related to the hebrew scriptures, "what the socino commentaries say.".

there is a brother in my old congregation that when they THOUGHT he has a cronic fatigue..they kicked him out. He is fine now. but yeah they do this, any sign of illness or issues out ya go! It's sad cause your pretty much destitute. unless you have a well off family or are in a rich congregation you really have no real skills to do anything.

During a circuit assemble the did a Demo with a family that I knew and one of the lines the parents told there children was.. "You kids are always well behaved and study your bible and listen to Jehovah.. that is one of the reasons your mom and I love you so much."
I looked around wondering if I was hearing things... apparently unconditional love for your children is out the window now..

I remember touring Bethel.. I wonder if the standards of dress are so they can tell the new "recuits" from the established witnesses. I wonder if there are different tours for them.
