January 2013 warns parents to resist contact with df'd children again

see page 15-16. full of "straw men" like:.

* do not blame yourself it is the child that jehovah blames - parents do not care whose fault it is they just want their child not to be killed by god.

* it is ok for parents to hope their df'd child returns - was anybody really asking if that was wrong?.

so my niece was disfellowshipped about 18 months ago for having a worldly boyfriend who was obviously staying over at her place on a regular basis.

they now have a house together an are going strong.

her boyfriend is a nice guy.

Wondering whether to invite my JW mum to my son's Bday party

ok so my son is turning 3 soon and i will be having a party for him a couple of weeks early due to the holidays.

last year i made him a gingerbread house, complete with his name and how old he was in icing.

i didn't invite my parents to the party (which was mainly older friends and a couple of his playmates), but since the kids didn't really eat it i took some to my parents and they ate it and my mum liked the photos i showed her of the intact ginger bread house (without candles).

Need help combatting disfellowshipping policy scripturally

hi i need some help to show that the scriptures used to uphold the disfellowshipping policy are actually only meant to apply to those that deny the christ blah blah.

not for me but someone close to me.

parents have disowned her.

i have been reading some of his books lately, namely the "thinking course", "h+ the new religion?

" and "i'm right and you're wrong".

i find his writing style to be rather arrogant and both of these books that i have, out ofthe many he has written, contain passages that are exactly the same.

when you carry the bible, satan gets a headache; when you open it, he collapses; when he sees you reading it he faints; when he sees you are living what you read, he flees!!

and when you are about to re-post this message, he will try and discourage you ... i defeated him!!

this was emailed to me a couple of years ago so i realise i am posting this rather late but thought it interesting all the same.

it shows how the witnesses can use something to prove their cause, blind to the fact it is actually against them!

the email was a copy of a ny times advert for an organisation against religion being involved in secular society, however, witnesses somehow fail to remember that they are an organised religion and a very controlling one at that.

i was breakingfree, but have forgotten my password and no longer have access to the email address that was attached to that account, which i haven't used for over a year (i have just been reading as a guest and not posting).

my new name is probably more appropriate, i don't see myself being able to break completely free for some time.

me and my hubby are out (inactive, successfully faded) but rest of the family in and very devout.
