  it is a summary of another article from sociology of religion.. .

  Creepy Talks

  do any of you remeber any talks that were creepy in nature.for example i remember a talk where a brother said "when the end comes your friends and family will be against you" now if that is not crazy i don't know what is.i remember alot of talks regarding bible prophecy and the end times.all of this did not help reinforce the sense of fear since it was 2007-2008 and the united states was going through a recession.this just proved to be fuel for their talks.give good experiences of any talks that you have had that proved to be either weird or very creepy..

  Awesome talk that I would have considered weird as a witness, but makes a lot of sense now. Fred Franz gave it in 1984 outlining the early history of the organization. Well worth a listen:

  1. an entire 1 hour discourse on helping our children become little innocent martyrs for the wt via.

  their flawed and unreasonable blood doctrine.

  The GOVERNING BODY doesn't make the polices.......

  oddly enough....the governing body don't make the policies; the policies make the governing body!.

  think of it this way.... the economy is every transaction, asset and liability within our country which is inside a greater context of the world markets.. each family has their little piece of the greater pie: debts, savings, purchases, credit-you name it.. but--get this--nobody is in charge of the economy.

  nobody runs it.

  I stopped going to the Kingdom Hall

  in late 1976, i had just turned 17. everyone in my family dropped out over the next few years, except a a brother who has been going strong his whole life.

  my mother went back a couple of years ago and i live in the same town as she does and she keeps talking to me about it.

  reading this forum, it sure brings back a lot of memories.

  Thanks for opening up Florida...I am feeling the same way. I believe this will haunt me for the rest of my life. The doom and gloom etc.

  Keep researching the JWs beliefs and the Bible. I used to be worried too, Took me about a year, but I've researched enough to convince myself that I really don't need to be.

  recently i have been approached by an elder and asked if i could get going again in the door to door preaching activity due to not having any time in for three months.

  i told him it was due to health reasons, etc.

  now it seems i am due for a sheperding call in the very near future.

  as i was sipping my morning coffee, i heard a distinct knocking on my door.

  the front door was closed, so i didn't open it.

  The JWs I have known (and myself) do not like to ring the bell before 10AM/11AM/12PM (depends on the publisher) in case the householder is sleeping.
