this is an illustration that best describes in human terms what i believe eve did.. picture the litle pieces of paper that contain an alcohol prep swab.. sometimes i come accross one that is old*, and it's been hanging around for a while.. so what comes to mind is; "i wonder if it is still damp?".
i could open it to check (that is what our mother did).. or i could throw it away (that is what god did not do).. or i could leave it alone.. if i open it, then i will either pretend i need it and use it, then throw it away.. or i should throw it away.

in the previous thread of this series, i called lurkers attention to the need of being discreet when contemplating an exit from the jw religion.
i mentioned that the thread was borne as a result of the general observations i made reading old posts here and discussing with many ex-jws and their lives have gradually turned out.
that thread alone was visited more than 2,980 times and graced with 204 contributions.

Well, I would say the only one who could vouch for 100% survival would be Jehovah. And I bet there were parents, grandparents, brothers and sisters praying desperately for those kids.
If you believe in the god of the bible, he could have reached down and cured those kids with the tip of his pinkie. Or he could have used his 1-800-the- Governing-Body number to give them a little "new light" about blood so they could have given the human doctors a fighting chance to save those kids.
Or, he could have sent a ram or something the parents' way so they could have made a sustitute sacrifice. Nope, for those kids, Jah let the parents go through with the sacrifice. Maybe he's decided he likes the smell of sacrificial human blood the best after all.

Oh my god...let's see. A wonderful marriage (27 years...and the elders said marriage to a "worldly" man would never last) to my best friend. A great job that I love. I have three children who I love madly and who I like as (nearly) grown up people. I laugh about something nearly every day. I enjoy the seasons and the festivals honoring them. I think for myself and read what I want. I am not submissive to my husband...and he wouldn't have married me if I had been that kind of person. I'm happy, not afraid.

ABSOLUTELY. Positively. I have no doubts whatsoever. I still wake up on Sunday mornings thankful that I don't have to go to meeting. I still rejoice in my heart when my Mom goes to an assembly and I get to stay home and live my life. I am grateful every time my family puts up the Christmas tree with carols in the background and leftover Thanksgiving in the refrigerator. My life has been rich beyond belief BECAUSE I LEFT!

Yeah, what Liberty and Ziddina said. And you might be surprised by how many of the "old gods/goddesses" are being worshipped. I remember the exact moment when it suddenly hit me, reading about the god of the OT, "If this guy exits, he doesn't deserve my worship." Scared me to death, but I knew it was true.

that's between 500 and 1700 children a day, depending on what numbers you accept.
still, no matter which numbers you use, doesn't this make you arrive at one of the following conclusions?.
