  sorry, to be so blunt- for a whole day i have watched people here patting themselves on the back- we're a large army, oohh, look out wt, we might do something, well not today or tomorrow, but someday!

  maybe, i have to just accept that a lot of jw's who are exiting the kh by the back door will never find a backbone to stand up to mummy and elder daddy.. jw's have a learned ability to see themselves in a better light than everyone else sees them.

  ask a jw, if they are a charitable religion and they would likely all say they are, but when pressed to name a charity they will be unable to do so.

  Moshe I think you are being very harsh. I feel very lucky that my hubby and I have resigned together. I feel so much for husbands and wives who have children and are fading on their own with no support, and know their children may never speak to them again or may lose their husband or wife. They need all our love and support not judgment. I am sure they are still able to plant seeds of doubt and use their situation quietly and maybe in time help family and others to wake up. Every ones situation is different.

  Hi Cristopher we are all here to support you and we have all been there and your right we are not 'disfellowshipped' we are not a status we are people with a freedom of choice. we had a choice to stay faded as we where but like you Mr. Bumble and I decided not to.

  Hi Leftchica Yes I agree with alanv there will be many reading this on the forum that are lurkers or sitting on the fence and will help them think. I liked how you pointed out the watchtower 'No where else to go' March l988 changing it from 'whom' to 'where'. Misleading people into thinking that if they leave the organisation they are leaving God and Jesus. This is what I pointed out to my family that I have not left God or Jesus christ. Jesus is the way the truth and the life there is salvation through him and no one else. He is our mediator. We don't have to go to the organisation for salvation.

  That was a well written letter Mr Bumble and I hope many more have the courage to right similar letters and many more including our family wake up and think for themselves.

  did any body have calls and studies pinched off them

  over the years my hubby and i would auxilliary pionneer and start studies and develope calls that would take magazines regularly and invite us in.

  as hubby wasn't a ministerial servant at the time elders ministerial servants and reg pioneers felt they were more worthy to have the studies and calls and would find a way to take them from us.

  one ministerial servant told our study who started attending meetings that he should be taking their study and succeeded in taking it over..

  Hi Stillin That is awful that happened to your daughter especially from an older sister who should be setting an example and the elders okaying it. Over the years I experienced and saw so much of this in the congregation. As cantleave said it may seem petty but to a young person it can knock their confidence and they feel things deeply then if you protest they accuse you of not being humble enough. Its true that it is all about status in the congregation. dissed I am so glad your wife woke up and this led her to re-thinking the Org. They treated your wifes hard work and effort even though she had to work and had a baby and was pioneering with contempt. As far as I am concerned they were not worthy of her hard work. How dare they say she was not worthy to have those studies. Broken Promises your story is typical of Elders and their wives thinking they are entitled to things and step over their brothers and sisters to get them, seen that hundreds of times over the course of 40 years. Girlie its amazing isn't it how when we were in the Org we just took it all and got on with it like your friend I hope she eventually wakes up as we did.

  MY BIRTHDAY....

  i'll be 60 come sunday march 7...all those years managed to dodge hospitals and any kind of major surgery.

  last friday went under the knife for the frist time in my life.

  laid me on a table, butt up, cut into my left lung.

  Why I wrote a novel

  in 1973, the year i graduated from college, i joined what sociologists now call a high control religion, what others would call a cult.

  sixteen years later, my wife and i mailed a letter to the groups headquarters formally ending our relationship with them.

  Hi Sd7 Sorry to hear that you are so down all the other comments are right. There is no easy solution it seems whatever relationship that you have had with your wife has been soured not by you or by your wife but by the teachings of the beast. You simply cannot live like this and you can't allow random events to take there course. I've no doubt that your wifes intentions were not meant to be vindictive, because she fears the beast. She must be going through a traumatic time herself knowing that her love for God must outweigh any decision you make regarding leaving the org. even though you must know it is mistaken loyalty and fear of the beast. I am sure that you have spoken to her of your continued love of God and continue doing so. But whatever decision you make will only get worse for yourself and your health if things continue as they are. You know the options for you ,why don't you try something very unusual something the org. would never suggest for someone in your situation and speak to your heavenly father and throw it on his shoulders. As much as they have convinced your wife there is no where else to go they do not have the monopoly on God and prayer.

  in many cultures, arranged marriages are a common practice.

  often this involves the parents of both parties making specific arrangements for their children to marry upon reaching a certain age.

  sometimes there is money or property given to the parents of the bride as compensation for the loss of her efforts in the household.
