  Four Levels of Shunning

  remember: the word shun means to avoid, especially persistently.. level 1. official watchtower policy makes extreme shunning mandatory for those disfellowshipped or disassociated.

  there are, of course, two loopholes:.

  (1) one is not shunned if living in the same household...but this works as long as one is not kicked out of their own home (like raypublisher was) or if the jw decide to leave as a consequence.. (2) one may do necessary family business..but this is open to interpretation and obviously relations are very uncomfortable and strained.. but for those two loopholes, a jw may not speak to the person shunned, not even to say hello.

  Tv.jw.org - Average Jdub reaction? I'm getting NOTHING but Silence!

  hello all, as you know, when jw tv was announced, our board went wild.

  many comments, much speculation and alot of negative feedback on the quality, etc.

  well, what has me concerned is that i have not heard a peep from any of my connections left in kingdom-land.

  I got it going on my computer yesterday to show mrs. hoser. I showed her the video at the end where the guy sings like a mixture of jack johnson and tracy chapman. She watched the video then Lett came on the screen and said "Jay Dubya dot org". My wife broke out laughing and went back to the living room to watch regular tv.

  the articles are definately an interesting read.

  they give plenty of bad advise as usual.

  " Stress and exhaustion make it difficult for some couples to take the time they need in order to strengthen their marriage."

  Both of these situations could be avoided by DISOBEYING the teachings of the watchtower religion.

  1. Get a good paying job even if it involves missing midweek meetings or disobeying the watchtower's position against higher education.

  2. Don't waste your time in any form of full time service.

  3. If you are tired on Saturday or Sunday morning and your body is telling you to stay in bed. Stay in bed.

  I would have to agree with you on this. Our marriage has blossomed since I stopped believing in the rubbish. I used to be a real a$$hole toward my wife because of the image I had to project while I was an appointed man in the congregation. I don't miss those days.

  i can not stand it when the speaker at a witness wedding introduces the new couple as "brother and sister_____".

  how messed up does that sound especially to non-witnesses??.

  just another stupid witness tradition that makes the rest of the world see how crazy they are!.

  nowpersonally i find this stupid and mornic since the tradion beihind the festival goes back to us ancestry bu so be it... (the us pbserves this a month later).

If you have a bad marriage it is because you do not pray enough, don't have family worship and arent trusing in Jehovah enough.

  WT asking people to sell and uproot life to help w/ temporary building projects...

  check out the new jan 2015 study wt, article, they offer themselves willingly.

  they give examples of young and middle age brothers and sisters who are selling their dream homes, uprooting their lives, etc, to move to help w/ building branches, etc, and how they know it's only temporary but not worried about what happens when they send them home.

  they then say will you put jah to the test and see if he won't open the flood gates of blessings for you.

  This happened to one of my cousins And his wife. They were "encouraged" by a family friend circuit overseer to sell their business and house when they were in their mid thirties to go pioneer in some backwoods town up north. Fast forward 15 years they are broke, resentful and starting over with nothing at 50 years of age.

  i always thought that when someone says they are anointed or the anointed....it has and still does conjour up the image of dungeons and dragons.

  I knew one guy who announced he was annointed and partook of the emblems for about 10 years and then announced he wasn't annointed anymore. This was a few years ago
