by Quarterback inwe just had the visit of the br, winston payne from down under australia.

Sounds like Payne and Jung are real sociopaths It doesn't surprise me There are many more in this organization. They will become whatever they have to become to climb the jw ladder -

Mind control.
by New day inin a recent thread someone mentioned that the wtbts uses mind control techniques.
do you think this is a conscious ploy?
if it is it would mean that the leaders of my religion (i am still an active jw) set out consciously to control people.

Assembly Assessment increased 300%
by James Jack inwhile at the assembly, when reading the financial statement, i noticed our expenses went from $2500 to almost $9500 so i questioned an elder and said that the assessment per publisher is at $10.50 for all in the us branch territory.. he added this helps the society know how much is coming in and helps them plan out future projects!.

The only way I see things changing in regards to shunning is if the IRS would revoke their tax exempt status if they didn't change. Follow the $$$$. -

Pathetic manipulation at the Zone Visit to the Mexico Branch (Central America)
by avaddohn94 ingb helper robert luccioni paid a visit to the branch that oversees mexico and central america and, you can probably imagine all the "excitement" among the witnesses who were tied in via internet.. this time they really emphasized that none of the information that was shared during such a "magnificent" event was to be posted on social media.
the fact that they are becoming more secretive should alert anyone about the dangers posed by cult-like religions but, truth be told, that is a very difficult thing to understand from within.. still, this picture might be of help!
in the end, luccioni's objective as representative of the governing body was very clear: money!

they end up donating more than they need to cover the cost of the magazines that they use, but in some congregations in the US, they don't even cover the costs
they didn't mention that the sister walked 20 miles through the jungle and crossed a crocodile infested river to be at the meeting to donate?

CO kept mispronouncing "debt"
by Red Piller inso, this happened a while ago - but i never posted on it.
during a co visit, he gave a talk relating to jesus ransom (i think) and the "debt" that was owed by sin, etc.... he kept saying "debt" and he kept pronouncing the "b".
so it sounded like "deb-t".
