Active posters: What education have you had, what degrees do you possess?
by EndofMysteries infrom so many posts and conversations on here, you'd think over 1/2 the posters here possess doctorates in theology, physics, biology, etc.
i'm curious aside from the books and research people have done here, what degrees they have.
to start, i just got an aa and going straight through full time to an mba.

How many members left the Watchtower because of all the Hatred and Anti-christian behavior? Were you exposed to betrayal, lies and slander against your family?
by PokerPlayerPhil ini am trying to wrap my head around 2014 and all the evil we experienced while the elders and overseer said "wait on jehovah because that's what all the true believers do!
" and i explained it's too painful to see the wicked people who brought my family suffering giving talks and providing other witness families with instruction we are to use when the end comes.
why are the quite members those who get treated like trash while members who call down evil upon the organization get everything they want so they will keep their mouths shut?.

' all of us were conditioned to obey the insane rules set before us.
that pretty much sums up why people stay. It is their "normal". However it is far from the real normal

Natural Selection in Religions
by Victor ini recently developed an interest in examining the origins of religion.
so what i've gathered so far is this.
the human mind needs to create an explanation and meaning.

More Anointed Join the ranks
by paulmolark inwhen i was an elder we had a sister who was known for providing oral pleasures to some people in the congo.
i was on the committee.
this girl for some odd reason was put on public reproof 4 times for the same thing.

This girl almost fits perfectly to someone from my old congregation.
Yes I am jaded. 35 years of being in abusive relationships have made me jaded.

Life After the Being Separate from the World
by yodastar inrealised that after leaving many years ago i don't have much of a social circle!!
has anyone else realised that we were not taught to be good in social circles except those that were approved associates?.
i recently went to a birthday party of a 45 year old guy and thought wow - this is what it is like to have formed a healthy social circle.

Great opening post. I have had similar feelings as yours. I know it is irrational to think that everybody is picking on me but that is the way I was raised too. One of my parents couldn't get enough of telling me I was useless. I was forced to attend three meetings a week where i was also told I was useless.
I am now mentally out and associate a lot with non Jws. I am finding out that they are for the most part decent non judgmental people. They don't pressure me to do things I am not comfortable with.

A new low in public shaming (and groveling)
by Captain Schmideo2 ina local elderette at my former hall (the same type person who posts selfies while out in "service") posted this public admonishment.
the responses are so pathetic.
these are all adults, but they still act like scared children:.

he would comment about me during the WT session without mentioning my name.
The last congregation I was in had a bozo elder like that He would describe my life to a T in his public talks implying that it was unchristian to live like that but he didn't have the balls to say anything to my face. Gutless ax hole I always ignored what he said assuming it was about someone else.

The True God of Jehovah's Witnesses...Unity
by freemindfade ini was unable to sleep because of my ongoing turmoil with my family and my wife's ongoing naivety about what they are trying to accomplish.
and i came to another thought about this group, the witnesses.
they say "i put jehovah first!!

Yep it's conformity. The leaders of this religion can't handle it if someone thinks differently than the rest of the herd.
It is just like a franchise. All of the mcdonalds stores and walmarts look the same no matter where you are. It is the same thing as the jehovahs witnesses.
