  calling the bible errant , because it gives pie as 3 ( measurement of copper basin) is not a good argument.

  15 feet from overhanging rim to rim in i kings 7:32 would give 47 feet in circumference, so: ( byington version) gives 45' for that smaller circle.

  but that line would not hang around the slippery rim, but stretch easily around the narrower lower neck.---.

  The reason the religion tells horror stories about people who leave the Witnesses is to discourage those who want to exit! It is a defeat for them when people flee the religion.

  i note on here the feedback from the currently ongoing conventions that the gb are heavily trying to guilt and shame any brothers who are not ms or elders.

  i agree with most posters who reckon this shows just how thin on the ground they are for ms and elders but... my question is.

  how comes that even though they are so desperate they still will not allow women to fill those roles?

  If they followed the scriptural requirements for ministerial servants and elders and not their own made-up-on-the-fly bullshit rules there would be a lot more elders and servants.

  Local Elders whip the Congregation into a frenzy about donating to the Organization

  because of the may broadcast about how funds are down, our elders have been in their talks "encouraging" or pressuring everyone to donate more to the world wide work.. it freaks me out how we already give them a set amount of $600 a month, plus what is contributed by the congregation(usually $400 to $500 a month).

  heck, our local congregation bank account even got below $500 for the first time this past may since i have been doing the accounts(4 years now).

  for june, we raised a whopping $2400 to send into the branch.. the most amazing part, is that only a select few contribute on a regular basis every month.

  My trip to the landfill

  it was with great pleasure and with mrs hosers blessing that i took all of our bound volumes and other obsolete jehovah's witness books to the local landfill.

  i threw them into the garbage pile and watched as a crawler tractor drove over them to pack them down.

  Fun at The WT This Morning

  so ofs was at the wt this morning, and on par.

  14 the question was, "what trust can a faithful christian whose relative is disfellowshipped have?".

  after awhile when no one else raised their hands ofs did, and was called on.. ofs commented, "one of jw can have the trust that god will lovingly give them the ability to uphold the disfellowshipping arrangement by totally shunning family members.".
