One province in Canada is introducing a rural trespass act that would cover some of these demonstrations. Protesters could be fined in the 10s of thousands of dollars.

What Do You Think About Organized Sit Ins That Are Disruptive?
by minimus inmarches, sit ins, traffic blocking is the new normal for people to demonstrate.
they block highways, state buildings and roadways.
they may even get arrested but invariably get turned loose by the courts.. i think it’s disgraceful to demonstrate this way.

They should be allowed to protest by disrupting traffic or whatever means they feel necessary. However, they should also be held fiscally and criminally responsible for their actions.
If traffic is backed up due to a protest and an ambulance is delayed causing a life to be lost, those protesters need to be charged with manslaughter.
Every person delayed needs to be compensated for their lost wages. The companies that employ the delayed workers also need compensation for lost revenues.

'Experiences(tm)'! Made up or totally true??
by punkofnice inat one assembly(tm), i was asked to relate an 'experience(tm)' which i did.
however, during rehearsals, the geezer in charge elder or co or some such title, told me that i shouldn't tell it the way it was.
i did a 're-enactment(tm)' with another 'brother(tm)'.

As a motivational tool it works for guilt tripping the mentally in. Embellish some experience and hint that you are not doing as much as brother bullshit experience.
This is taken straight from big corporation motivation 101. Mrs Hoser worked for a big company a number of years ago and their branch always got told their numbers weren’t as high as a branch 500 miles away It worked until someone transferred in from that place and it turned out corporate headquarters was playing this bullshit game to get free labour from the staff

I see you still can’t work on a church building but you can build a Kingdom Hall and the watchtower corporation can sell it to a church.

Do You Think “Higher Education “Is All That??
by minimus inas jehovah’s witnesses, we were regularly told how awful a college education is.
i’m no longer associated with the religion but i am not so pro university.
it’s not because i think you are better off without a degree.

I’m a businessman with no formal business education. I barely made it through high school. I hire the people I need to do the things I don’t have the skills or time to do.
Just like all groups of people there are good and bad within the group. One contractor I hire has a mechanical engineering and a computer science degree. He has a great work ethic and goes above and beyond to make sure my production levels and quality remain exceptional.
On the other hand I have to deal with some people with a degree that are absolutely useless in their jobs. I’ve phoned their boss and told them never to send that person again. These types seem to hide their incompetence behind the fact that they spent 4 years in university. I guess for them a university degree helps them because they have that piece of paper to get their foot in the door.

Mrs hoser and I attended our old congregation this past weekend. It is actually made up of 3 amalgamated congregations. We were talking about it on the drive home and came to the conclusion that in 10 to 15 years 3/4 of the publishers will be in old folks homes or dead.

What was the retirement plans you heard brothers talk about if any
by JimmyYoung ini know some would not think about retirement.
i had one brother who would pioneer as he could afford and when he paid off his home he was about to collect social security.
he made enough that his plan was to work two to three days a week and pioneer the rest of the week.

They are Still preaching against careers!
by LongHairGal ini saw on another forum a post somebody made about the melbourne assembly.
it seems the religion is still knocking full time jobs/careers and saving for retirement.. you would think at this point in time - after thousands of bethelites were sent home; many thousands of rank & file jws are at or near retirement age with no preparation - that the religion would change its tune, but no.
they are still stubbornly sticking to their guns on this issue.. i’m sorry for any young jws who listen to this.. i’m just glad i never followed their advice and certainly would not want to be in any congregation surrounded by these desperate people!.

Why do they preach against careers? Self preservation. If every jw got busy living their lives the organization would definitely collapse. The leaders would be out of a job.
In the past they needed to sell books to maintain their position. Now they need to flip real estate.
