The old age pension in Canada is a meager existence.
If you don’t own a place to live outright or have a pension from your employment you’re gonna need to get a job.
Canada pension plan doesn’t pay a lot unless you have payed the maximum meaning you have worked full time at a good paying job for at least 40 years. You can collect at 60 but it is a reduced amount.
I unfortunately see brothers who bought into “the end is just around the corner” nonsense in the 70’s in their 70’s working labour jobs.
It’s sad to watch. They thought they had the world by the tail.

About 15 years ago I realized the con and started to prepare for retirement. About the same time the congregation started soft shunning me.
The borganization want people to be poor and dependent on their social structure. That’s what keeps people in.
It’s all fake. It’s a manufactured social structure to keep the individual jw in servitude. The leadership does’t give a shit and won’t help you in your old age.

the hlc’s purpose is to provide assistance in accessing bloodless treatment options, facilitating communication with healthcare providers, and helping ensure that the patient’s choices are respected.. while the hlc strongly supports adherence to the beliefs of jehovah’s witnesses, the ultimate decision remains with the individual.
My experience with the “blood issue” is this.
Not me but a relative that ended up dying in the hospital.
The HLC and elders in the congregation weren’t there for us. Did not even want to go to the hospital to visit an active publisher.
We are not that active, therefore not that important in the congregation. Our group overseer insisted we go to his place so he could tell us we should not have the funeral in the Kingdom Hall while before the patient even died.

A few years back, probably 10 or more the Watchtower was looking for people to lend their holiday trailers for volunteer construction workers to stay in.
The trailers had to be in near new condition and a certain length.
I didn’t lend mine because at the time I was too poor to own one.
i didn’t get the covid vaccine, but i admit, i was scared as shit i made the wrong decision because there was so much confusion out there.
practically all my family and most of my friends took the vaccine because everyone was depending on those in charge to speak the truth.
now a lot of them are sick, and they can't figure out why.
One thing that should be mentioned about COVID lockdowns and restrictions:
It may have altered the course of the religion (jws) irreparably.
The two years of not attending in person meetings may have crippled the jws and their indoctrination tactics.
That is the positive point of the COVID pandemic.

Both my wife and I got our COVID shots. Moderna to be exact.
I didn’t tell many people of my vax status. We have a medical privacy act in Alberta. It was all thrown out the window during COVID along with a lot of other labour laws.
My first shot I didn’t feel a thing. Second dose I literally fell out of my chair at the clinic. I was that sick from the shot.
The Canadian government and Alberta government did a very poor job in handling the illness.
Deena Hinshaw and Jason Kenney didn’t do their jobs. Many of the lockdowns and restrictions are now being deemed unlawful and compensation will be paid out by the alberta government because the cabinet ministers made decisions that were ultimately Deena Hinshaws to make. She was the Chief Medical Officer and had the authority to arrest violators and lock down businesses and she didn’t. The cabinet did and it was not debated properly in legislature.
As far as my wife and I we are both still alive and well. I know people that died of COVID that had all the vaccinations and some that had covid with no vax and survived so I’m not sure. I don’t have all the facts.
All I know is the governments reaction to this pandemic destroyed a lot of peoples lives, divided families, and was basically a 100% shit show.
