Memory hole, international conspiracy, and the JW international network
by slimboyfat incan anyone else who was around 15 to 20 years ago remember an odd story about jw missionaries being stopped at the swiss/italian border with american bonds worth billions of dollars in their possession?
because i can find little to no information about it anywhere online, yet at the time i am sure i recall it being reported by different mainstream news sources, including the bbc.
why do some news stories seem to disappear from the internet altogether?

Sometimes news stories just disappear.
It’s easy if it’s not on paper.
The government of Canada department of propaganda CBC removes news stories on a regular basis

If you live in Canada, they are taking away your Guns, to send to Ukraine.
by liam inhistory is full of examples of governments disarming their citizens , only to be brutally betrayed.
what follows is a litany of blood that happened after disarming citizens.
1911: turkey; citizens disarmed – 1.5 million armenians were slaughtered.

They are going after semi automatic rifles, many of which are small calibre that wouldn’t kill a rabbit if it was more than 10 yards away.
It is more what the gun looks like than what it’s firing capabilities are. They are banning scary looking guns.
Fully automatic guns have been banned in Canada for decades.
Its a smokescreen for a failing, corrupt government and probably a kickback scheme for Trudeau’s liberal cronies.

Not one gun will be confiscated!
The Trudeau government made this announcement to look like they care about their constituents.
The last gun buyback they announced in 2020 has spent 67.2 Million dollars and not buy back one gun. Where did the money go? Probably to Trudeau’s cronies.
I’m not sure how stupid the government thinks we are?
The Ukrainian army doesn’t want my grandpas used .22 rimfire semi automatic squirrel gun built in 1975. They want real guns with calibre size that standard ammunition can be used in.
It’s all a publicity stunt by a government that will fail whenever an election is called.

Any information about a special talk on Marriage in December 2024
by insearchoftruth intwo folks from the local kh visited the house yesterday looking for my wife who is an on again off again baptized jw.
wife was not available so they asked me to tell her about a special talk on marriage next week.
any outlines available for this ‘special talk’ or could this potentially be a local issue?.

I think there are a lot of unhappy marriages in “the truth”.
The advice the watchtower gives just doesn’t work.
They need to stop micromanage peoples lives and let them figure it out in their own.
If they did that the religion, if you want to call it that would cease to exist.

Memories of Excessive Laughter
by Sea Breeze injw's are not known for laughter.
there are the rare exceptions.
they are more known for their fear mongering and doomsday scenarios where "the dead shall come to be as manure on the surface of the ground from one end of the earth clear to the other".

My experience with laughter at the Kingdom Hall is a negative one.
Ive noticed many a watchtower study conductor or book study conductor use “humour” to shame those who make mistakes in commenting.
I hate being laughed at. That’s why I don’t comment anymore

gossip
by Nancy1919 ini was once was told by an jw elder it was a rule not to gossip or swear as it could harm someone, but i guess the new light allows this.
it was bad enough when they were calling people worldly now i heard a jw gossiping about someone and it was mean.just another reason i would never go back.

Most hard core jws have a pathetic existence.
Gossip is all they have.
If they were busy doing things that build their feelings of self self worth , they would neither need to or have the time to gossip about others.
I used to gossip, I was pathetic, and I was a full blown active jw.

10 - "another reason why many feel there is no place for them in the service of god is due to the clergy-laity distinction that is fostered in the churches.

No clergy-laity division until a kiddy fidler isn’t reported to the local sherif department.
Then it’s we have clergy privileges
