Have you ever heard a talk on child molestation following a judicial reproof?
by NVR2L8 inwhen someone is reprimanded by a judicial commitee there is usually a talk given to the congregation about issues that leads to serious sins.
sometimes that talk takes you by surprise because the reproof was private and no announcement was made to the congregation.
other times you figure out why an individual was the object of a judicial commitee...i heard talks on the usage of drugs, cigarettes, pornography, bad forms of intertainment, fornication, adultery, fraud, gambling, disapproved medical treatments...but never on child abusers and mostly how to protect your children against this terrible crime.. do you think the reason there is never mention of child abuse is that if many knew there is a child molester in their midst they would pressure the elders to go to the autorities?

I had the PO of our congregation warn me of a molester, privately. I saw him in town one day and he said" you're not supposed to know about this
but brother ----- that lives down the street from you is a molester. You have small children and you should watch them."
yea if he hadn't broken the rules I wouldn't have a clue that brother regular publisher/commenter at meetings was a child rapist. No indication from
the local needs whatsoever.

I think this is spot on! Just by talking to some of the elders I don't think they have read the Bible at all. They have very little knowledge of the book.
One elder basically directed me away from the scriptures and to a watchtower article for advice with something I had enquired about.

Who On This Site Would You Like To Meet?
by minimus inthere are a lot of interesting people that frequent this site.. sometimes, we get an idea of what the posters are really like in "real life".
and i'm sure i could be easily surprised by some that you think might be strong personalities because of their board presence, and in reality, they might be shy in a face to face setting.. i would enjoy meeting simon.
simon used to be terribly annoyed by my posting and now i think he's accepted with tolerance my being here.. farkel seems like a grouchy cantankerous fellow but i think he'd be very interesting company!.

Why we really SHOULD trust the Governing Body...

it seems that, in my haste to scrutinize the teachings of the governing body and see whether they are actually in line with bible teachings, i have overlooked one important factor which indicates that they really can be trusted as those "taking the lead" in god's organization..... ...apparently, their weekly meetings sometimes run past 5 o'clock!!
i would like to apologise for any undue criticism i may have levelled at the governing body on this forum or elsewhere.. if i had been aware of the above information, i would obviously have been far more willing to humbly accept their leadership.. .

A couple of tidbits I picked up on. at about 0:48 the speaker mentioned the members of the faithful slave feels responsible for the great crowd's
salvation. The 10 thousand or whatever the number is of partakers now don't have any say in any of the policys. Then he continued on calling them
the governing body.
this is the funny part: at 4:58 after the speaker had said he had researched for the sheperding call brother sydlick said you don't need this throw that in the garbage.
what did he research? wt publications of course. you don't need this throw it in the trash. basically saying that the watchtower should be thrown in the trash couse the brothers don't need it.
and one more thing. how do I sign up for a 1 day a week job like that?
