I was there. Went for the meeting, hid nothing. They ignored the doctrinal issues and plainly said they did not want to discuss them and just used all the other stuff.
I've never felt more free in my life. This afternoon I am taking my kids to a science center and out for ice cream and then tomorrow I am going out on a boat on the lake with *gasp!* worldy people...

lately i've been making a lot of negative comments about the wts at family gatherings, trying to plant seeds of doubt whenever i can.
but my wife thinks i'm going overboard and starting to raise suspicion.
we had a huge argument last night because i told her i'd rather not go to the gatherings at all than to stay quiet.

I understand the Expansion of the universe, but could it is a coincidence that the distance between moon and sun are in a relatively good place for a total eclipse to occur in the time where life is around to witness it.
Before there was a moon this wasn't true. And realtively speaking....millions of years ago this wasn't true. Also, the argument from ignorance (not suggesting you are ignorant, just that we can't say for sure) that this is the only planet/star with those conditions is is invalid.

lack of beleif in god does not constitute a belief. It's more like "the evidence does not support that conclusion".

i responded with the comment that billions of christ's followers worldwide, down through history for over 19 centuries have been selfless in preaching globally.
I said something similiar at the meeting the elders called with me tonight and they laughed it off and said there was no way that could possibly be true.
righteously "poisoning the well" of watchtower (wt) - nowadays this is a metaphorical expression.
don't take it literally; no violence, no persecution, no stigmatizing.. most are not aware but they have been using this in one form or another.
but using this on wt is difficult because wt is so strong, organized and effective that metaphorically only "spattered poison" reaches the well which by now starts to taste bitter.. for it to be righteous, it has to be truthful, no matter how scandalous.
