  I may be a bit slow, but what is the value of the deer oil? Maybe to a little flavor to some vegetables or rice?

  Years ago when I'd see them I'd be scared and not look at them.

  I think the idea you are trying to convey here is that you treated them with kindness and dignity, whereas you might not have in the past. Do not look at fear as a bad thing, though. It is not shameful to be fearful of people at times. I believe fear is what "nature" gave us for self-preservation. You don't want to show fear by not looking people in the eye though. That just labels you as being a perfect victim.

  Be careful going to the dump like that. Your description of that trio tells me they have fallen on some really hard times. Just remember that desperate people are often driven to do desperate things. Be safe.

  I never understood the kids who wouldn't cry. My parents whooped us with leather belts, and my mom would whoop us till she got tired. It hurt forreal.

  i am a fan of anything wts hates, like smurfs and birthdays, clinking glasses in a toast, exchanging gifts on december 25th.

  i have never really been the person to set new year's resolutions, but it is something wts would not like.. anyway, i used to read blondie's comments on the wt study article.

  i remember how it kept me mad at wts to read such stupid stuff from them.

  I was raised at a time where any adult could whoop a kid. You know the whole, "it takes a village" deal. I don't remember being whooped by anyone other than my parents & teachers though. When I was a tween I once babysat for a family in my hall that had 3 boys. I don't know what they did, but I whooped them. Later I heard their mom tell my mom, "tell Serenity she is not allowed to whoop my kids!" That's why I didn't like babysitting. I don't wanna be responsible for any kid I can't discipline.

  I think number 1 applies to so many JWs who know the truth about the cult but stay in. I think it's a shame to give even one more minute to that disgusting organization after you know it to be false. You gotta live your life, not the life other people want you to live.

  i know that sounds crazy and stupid, but has anyone else ever felt like they always have to be the strong one for others in their life, but you don't feel that strong?

  like you have to be the sensible, dependable one, while the people around you have breakdowns?.

  two of the most important people in my life had psychiatric emergencies on the same day.

  I know that sounds crazy and stupid, but has anyone else ever felt like they always have to be the strong one for others in their life, but you don't feel that strong? Like you have to be the sensible, dependable one, while the people around you have breakdowns?

  Two of the most important people in my life had psychiatric emergencies on the same day. It is difficult when the people around you have major issues, and they lean on you for support, but are not able to support you when you need help. My sister, who I am very close to was suicidal and I had to take her into the ER for help. I cried for 2 days. She's getting better, but my other loved one seems to be getting worse.

  I never knew when I was a JW that Jesus was not considered to be the mediator for all people. I didn't learn that until I came here. That is such a repugnant idea, that Jesus is not the mediator for the "great crowd."

  Desirous of change, no, my family has not used the scripture against me. I just would like to address the rift in the family because I don't want to be a JW. I've known JWs to use that scripture to justify the discord that occurs when a family member is treated as an enemy for leaving the JWs. The way I'm feeling right now though, if they start some shit, I won't even try to reason with them, I may just tell 'em to go to hell!

  Thanks your comments everyone. I enjoy hearing different perspectives about the bible. I'm not even sure my JW fam will even talk to me this weekend, but if they do I want to be ready.
