  they have told us if we whant to take a lil gift for the elders for there hard work how sweet any sugestions????

  well, folks, this little mermaid just got back from the sad she had to attend w/her husband so as to keep a measure of peace (we're in the process of working out compromises...you know how it goes) i was pretty mad by the end of the day (thank god it ended at 4:00) mostly because i learned some new things that i would never have guessed in a million years.. did you know that satan is setting up artificial "refuges" as a counterfeit to jehovah's "true refuge"which is...his organization???

  now satan's "false refuges" are pretty damn bad, like, for instance, "independent thinking.

  " no, siree bob, we don't want none of that!!

  bohm - the education bashing gets pretty personal at every KH for those who are/have gone to uni. Another thing that annoyed me was that they'd render any worldly qualification useless but then misquote some professor agreeing with the WTS as if his status was special.

  Satan's other false refuges are at after school training facilities, theme parks, libraries, cinemas, clubs, stores that stock smurf toys, internet sites and workplaces for professional councillors.

  Anyone any profound experience?

  since leaving the borg a couple month back i have as some of you know seemed to get lower and lower.

  my friends have slowly but surely drifted and we (my hubby and i) are treated very much like 'apostates' now and have been tried to be shoved out by them trying to get us to da ourselves.

  and now i feel quite lost and am really struggling.. at first i continued to pray to god, believing he was listening and i could draw comfort from the inner peace i seemed to feel???

  Hi Bez,

  They are doing this to punish you. It's not right, it's not loving and I don't believe it's from God (although I'm kind of in a similar place to olns with regard to my beliefs so I have no experience of where you are now).

  You have gone through a huge upheavel and you'll be feeling all sorts of stresses as a result. Your decision to leave the JW's was about being honest, to yourself and God. This was about doing the right thing - it's certainly not fair you should suffer for doing that. That's what I do know.

  A £m would bring a smile to your face though wouldn't it?

  i have recently found out that someone close to me is receiving medicaid and in the process of getting food stamps.

  this is so unfair and annoying.

  If they are doing something that may be illegal that you also consider to be morally wrong and can turn them in anonymously then do so.

  The authorities make the decision, and if the JW's in question are doing no wrong then they will still be entitled to their benefits.

  sw, your examples are totally disproportionate. That's being polite. As one of our posters would say - think about it

  okay i few years ago in melbourne he blew over .05 when stopped by cops so he tells the congregation later that i qoute: "i wasn't drinking....the sugar in coke must have fermented in my stomach........" yeah sure bro!

  whats dumber is that many "scientific" witnesses believed him!.

  I went to college as part of my long fade. I had no qualifications beforehand. I'd given up pioneering and was working full time doing a low paid full time job. Within two years of completing college I earned twenty times more. 20. Two zero. That's what a college education and hard work did for me. I never heard that from the platform but that's my experience.

  At the back whenever possible but always on the side. Less chance of the WT conductor eyeballing you for an answer and also the speaker was less likely to be put off if I had a snooze during his talk.

  asilentone - fatal error to ever change a pattern of behaviour - guilty verdicts immediately cast.

  It was very obvious if people fell out as you could see them sitting well away from each other. Also that time when courting couples started to sit together and would be watched by dozens of people for the whole meeting. So many subtle moments that meant so much - like being in the victorian era.

  while i at this moment don't have my hands on a scan and very dear 'anonymouse brother' wishes for the forum to know as a 'heads up'!.

  here is the 'gist' of the ltr until we get an actual scan ..... apparently some elders want to have their books spiral bound.

  the branch has sent out specific instructions that it can be done only by an elder for other elders.
