I think that was spot on.
Besides who's to say the laidback people can't help the healing process of the bitter ones?
i have a site wherein i have mentioned that i am having an apostofest at the burning man festival.. i recieved this letter re: the apostafest..... angry-at-the-society ex-jw's, .
to which i replied:.
i assume both!!!

our bookstudy conductor said that the chinese gov't wanted to buy meps for "millions" from the society.
anyone else ever heard this story?
or is this one region specific?.
I didn't hear that, but I did hear the Chinese Government wanted to use the Bible Story books to teach everyone the new unified and simplified chinese language -- which I find hard to believe that a communist state would use a Bible based children's book...
and i'm not talkng about historical referances, bible quotes, and those sorts of things.
instead i'm talking about how jw apologists conduct themselves on the internet.
they do it all the time.
Actually I know quite a few that would probably stand-up for witnesses and aren't witnesses themselves. My grandma would be one, as would a couple of other family memembers. I also went to school with a guy who's mother was a JW and he defended them quite adamantly while never being associated with them himself.
I guess I would need more examples to really see what you are saying, but your initial generalization I haven't really seen first hand myself. I guess I don't understand what the advantage would be to "pretend" to be a non-witness.
i have had this theory for a very long time and i would like to hear what everyone has to say about this.. i think that people are either inherantly religious or not.
if they are inherantly religious, then the wtbts will naturally apeal to them, all the deep in depth study and the bible analysis and so on.
they feel the need to look to a higher source for fulfilment.. and then there are those that are not inherantly religious... the ones the prefer to concentrate on the here and now.
I'm with you -- never felt the spiritual drive. Not even when I was a kiddie...
over the years, the watchtower has, believe it or not talked out of both sides of its mouth on this issue.
surprise, surprise.
lol!.
When you refer to your religion entity as the "Organization" -- and fail to see how it fits into the label of "Organized Religion" - you may have a congnative disconnect somewhere...it makes me giggle.

I still love that my parents say "Yes Organized religion is the cause of all the world's woe's." Yet witnesses don't get included in that label of "organized" Dude when you have the countryside mapped out as "territory" - you're organized!
with michigan.. i have been to michigan many times and i just love the lake and the landscape.
the sunsets over lake michigan are the most beautiful i have ever seen.
i have been to most places up the west coast along the lake.
thank god - I thought this was going to be another, "I'm in love with a JW - do you think we can make it work?" thread.
I've been to Michigan - I like it -- I'm a Minnesota Girl myself - so they seem pretty similar to me. Winter's here aren't too bad, so I would assume they are smiliar in MI.
christ almighty!
the whole i-35w bridge fell into the mississippi river!
cars and trucks in the river.
Yes - I am checking in - and A-ok, I take 94 to and from work -- not 35...what a horrible mess! Luckily for me everyone I know is ok - but it is scary since everyone either drives it themselves regularly or knows people who do. Very scary stuff - I can't even imagine what it might have been like.
There are still so many people missing -- it's very sad indeed.
lol!.
sorry, coco.
couldn't resist.
Probably as doomed as any other relationship has the potential to be doomed. I think just like in other friendship cases it depends on how well everyone communicates their feelings. I've had/have several platonic friendships. It's more about the parties involved than the actual "platonic" part.
the theme of last nites 'seinfeld' rerun.
it was a hoot!.
well.... do you fake them?.
I did - when I was much younger, and figured that you got boys to like you by pretending to be a pornstar in the sack. Also sometimes I didn't intend to fake, but some people assume too much...I'm just saying is all.
I have an ex from my former pornstar days who still thinks he's the world's greatest lover based on the oscar worthy performances I used to give...I so want to bring him down a peg - but it's not really worth it.
