Thanks to all for your comments and encouragement. Excercise is helping to mitigate some negative feelings. Rage against the machines lol. I feel better and have been sleeping better. It is a process that will take a while. Ironic how even though the organization claims to provide a way for a person to save his soul, in reality it steals his soul for its own purposes.

Once you get burned by something, there is at first a blister, then a pain that lasts for a long time, and then after healing, a scar. I am in the pain stage and looking forward to the scar.

Mental torture

it is pretty interesting to see the mental, emotional and physical impact that people have when realize the teachings of the org are lies.

i am not going to name any names or point fingers but i can say i have tremendous empathy for those who are recently aware.. let me splane,.

now that i know about the lies that i have been taught and subsequently taught people myself, i have become like a lost person.

Let me splane,

Now that I know about the lies that I have been taught and subsequently taught people myself, I have become like a lost person. I am constantly angry, cannot sleep at night, am critical and extremely negative. I can hardly live with myself. I don't know how anyone can stand to be around me. I have resorted to drinking heavily in an effort to silence my brain. I take sleeping pills on occasion to allow me to get some rest.

It is a vicious cycle, because the more you self medicate, the more guilt you feel about the methods you use to cope compounded with the increasing realization of your gullible stupidity, and how much of your life you have wasted. Oh yeah, don't forget that you are one of "the happiest people on earth!"

In short, once you find out that everything you have believed, lived for and sacrificed so much for is false, it is torture.

Challenges Facing the Watchtower Org

ive been thinking about the future of the watchtower organization and the challenges it faces in coming decades.

its difficult to address the issue without allowing personal feelings affect the analysis.

many people seem to think that the society will collapse fairly soon, based mostly on the fact that the person dislikes the leadership or cant understand how others can believe the doctrine.

Great analysis. I think that technology is moving so quickly that they will be left in the dust. Look at all print media from a sale/subscription standpoint. Most newspapers and magazines are struggling to keep the presses running. You take that fact and add that the printed material that org produces is not subsidized by ads, doesn't retail for anything, and is not relevant to real life and you have a losing game.

The organization will be forced to use the very technology that they vilify. The evil INTERNET. The point made about the door to door preaching work being affected is a good one. Can you imagine how effective it will be for publishers to go door to door?

"Hi, I am Barney Rubble and this is George Jetson and we are in your neighborhood sharing with your neighbors the latest email newsletter on the amazing telegraph. The telegraph allowed people to effectively communicate with each other. Do you think that God communicates directly with man today? This email that I printed out has some interesting information in it. Or better yet maybe I could get your email address?"

this morning i was trying to think of what you used to call that that method of field service were we bounced all over the the territory map hitting calls that were distanced far apart to waste time.

there was a funny term you called it at the kh but i can't remember.. i'm posting this instead of private message because someone else may know.. .

Elders Can Hide their Own Sins from the Past-Yet Continue as Elders? Read

i was shocked ( though i probably shouldn't have been ) when reading the new elders manual concerning whether elders have to confess up about former sins from a few years earlier.

notice this on pg.

38 , paragraph 19 : it states, " if it comes to light or an appointed brother confesses that he has committed a disfellowshipping offense years in the past : the body of elders may determine he can continue to serve if the following is true : the immorality or other serious wrongdoing occured more than a few years ago, and he is genuinely repentant, recognizing that he should have come forward immediately when he sinned.

Sir 82 - That is exactly right. Commit the sin, keep it quiet for a couple of years, come forward with sorrow and you are golden! Jesus wrote a blank check. This is exactly why the book is top secret.

In practice though, if you are a publisher and come forward you will get a committee meeting. I have seen a number of instances where a young couple does the deed before marriage, hides it for 7-10 years and still gets a JC.

Reporting time

has any of u ever put a report in and added time u didnt do on it.

i have ......just so theyd stop bugging me its like every time i sat down have u put ur report in thats all they talked to me for,.

then id get ignored rest of the time,.

Jehovah wants to see double digits on that time slip. You are not a faithful servant of God unless you spend at least 10 hrs a month driving from one empty house to another. Results don't matter, its the appearance of effort that does. And if you are an elder or a servant make sure that your service is visible so the other friends know you are setting an example. Don't go out on Friday when no one else does. Make sure you go out on Saturday morning when everyone can see you "pray in the broadway"

I had an argument about exactly this last night. It makes me sick that our perceived worth as god's worshipers doesn't have anything to do about the way we live or read the bible or pray. Instead it is all about time!
