  Hello..this is my story..

  i'm pleased to have found this site...i've browsed a little ...read quite a lot and gasped at some stories, giggled at the one liners and nodded in recognition of others' strong opinions and can relate to a great deal.. i'll try and keep my intro as brief as possible for anyone kind enough to listen.. i got involved with the witnesses in the late 70's in the uk.

  i was in my early 20s and had had a love and fascination for the bible since my difficult childhood.

  i soon brought my life into 'line' although it took a long time for me to pack up the smoking which didnt go down well in those days when 6 months of study should have been enough and if you hadnt cracked it then it was suggested that you were some kind of loser.... i reared my 4 children in the 'truth' as well as i could but i cant claim that we were a 'strong' family in their terms...just muddled along really..my husband at the time was a very difficult and abusive man and home life wasnt easy for any of us with his anger, jealousy and violence.

  i work with people who have developmentally disabilities....i got a raise so now i make 10.00 an hour...used to make 9.00......can you say poor house...i live on the west coast....

  long time, "big shot" elder, ....taught at km school, conventions, etc.

  yeah, i know it means nothing....but it gives you an idea of how deep i've been a jw.. i don't even really know what to write at this point.

  daringheart113,,,,,,,how long in the organization,,,,,,how can a promiment elder fade???,,,,,did they not "hunt" you down???,,,,,curious or (a really nosey bitch) your choice on how you want to view it..... i will not take offense....answer if you feel up to it....thanks...peaches....OR.... write your "story" then you won't be nagged with questions!!! but....no pressure....i am trying to be nosey, FUNNY, and kind....sick humor.

  I'm new and wanted to introduce myself

  hello everyone.. i'm new to this forum.

  i left the organization several months ago, and am on a new path now.

  though i didn't grow up in the organization, i have basically lived a life of pretending to be something i'm not, sheltering my feelings from everyone, and not feeling "enough" to anyone.

  What's your plans on the JW Memorial night?

  for the last 13 years, we haven't attended and didn't even care about it.

  but since we became card carrying members of jwn in september, we have an interest in what are friends here on jwn are doing.. for us?

  we will be watching 'dancing with the stars'.

  i haven't gone to a memorial for some time.....i have been in car groups after the memorial and all you hear is the insults about the "ONCE A YEAR

  MEMORIAL GOERS" yet i feel bad,,,,i believe what jesus did for us,,,,i believe what the bible says about the events and what lead up to jesus death....yet,,,,no matter how much i believe,,,,,i simply cannot go to a kingdom hall....i will probably stay home and say a brief prayer,,,and thank god for what he has done for us....

  yes,,,,they are appointed by Jehovah and his spirit,,,,in the sense that the bible is god's holy word and that his spirit guided and directed...

  qualifications for elder are listed in the bible....HOWEVER...imperfect men cannot read hearts or see what goes on behind closed doors...so while they are appointed by jehovah and his spirit guided bible,,,,MISTAKES ARE MADE....why god allows this is beyond me....

  three year old killed after weeks of abuse .

  baby ryan's mum was brought up a jehovah's witness and gave birth to ryan when she was 16. begs the question, what made her go off the rails?.

  and does anyone know of the hancox family in the midlands?.
