just got done reading a previous topic about elders monitoring this site...i have NEVER heard of that!!! does anyone know if it is just brooklyn elders that do this,,,or are other elders assigned throughout the country???? god,,,for creepy....

Fear....they called
by 4mylove inwell, i'm being brave enough to type from home.. apperently when my husband went to eh memorial one of the brothers asked him for his number and he provided it.
we were having a peaceful evening when he listened to a voicemail.. i am physically getting ill, shaking, crying and hoping this is nothing.. caller said, "it showed alot of respect by you coming to the memorial...".
i feel my life is over..... 4.

Have you hit your 50's? Are you feeling it, or do you still feel young?
by restrangled ini'm curious, because in my 40's i felt like a million dollars.
i am starting to feel it,....i just don't have the stamina of working in the yard all day, coming in making dinner and getting the laundry done at the same time, or working full time.. i see the years in my face when i don't get enough sleep, and no amount of makeup makes a difference.
my eyes seem to always look tired.

oh my god!!! there is nothing funnier than reality.....i am in my 50's.....i have a 90 year old body with a 13 year old brain...(is it suppose to be like this??) some health problems...picked up some prescriptions and the associate asked me if she should get me a cart for all of them,,,or if double bagging would be good enough and did i need assistance carrying them out?? THEN.......
i coughed really hard the other day and "WET MYSELF" ,,,,OH GOD,,,it only gets worse.....I found a lump and just KNEW i had cancer doctor said it was nothing to worry about,,,,it seems my anus is just giving birth to twin hemmoroides!! went out to eat lunch,,,feeling sorry for myself,,,,so thought i better eat a heathy meal.....a bit of a weight problem you know....well,,,,when i went up to pay,,,the cashier asked if WE wanted seperate slips or just one....I WAS BY MYSELF!! it seems my 2 chef's salads,,,2 large diet cokes and baked fish looks like alot of food to some people...
i'll go for a walk,,,that will help how i am feeling...so,,i am standing on the curb,,,when this biker dude drove up and said "show me your tits"...well,,,i was so scared i did what he said....i just stood there,,,,pulled by skirt up above my ankles and showed him my boobs....his eyes looked be downward ,,,and with pity in his eyes he said,,,,i am sorry,,,,be careful when crossing the curb that you don't trip over them...we waved at each other as he drove off....
i am still going through menopaus,,,,,you gals know what i am talking about,,,,,when the embers of hell BURN through your entire body,,,making you sweat like a pig in heat.....AND along with this unique turn of events,,the hair on my head is falling out,,,,and seems to have started growing out of my face????? (by stock in nair) so yup,,,,,i am feeling my 50's.....(note to self,,,,as i am getting forgetful...buy waterproof pad for bed)

yes,,,,and ...no.....in some ways i have grown in religious thinking,,,,i have learned the power of cults,,,,,,i learned basic bible principles,,,and facts about the bible.....and the list could go on....on the other hand,,,,,i have grown in what religious thinking can do to people that have power,,,,i have lerned the power of cults,,,i learned basic bible principles can be exagerated and distorted to the point of crippling people,,,,i have learned that bible facts are some times not facts,,,,but,,,fiction....
i will not ever forget what i have learned....the sad part----i wish i could...

Did leaving the WT build greater appreciation for or kill your reading of the Bible?
by lepermessiah ini am really on the fence on this issue right now and would love some opinions.. i find that i dont sit down and read the bible for long periods since becoming inactive, but on the other hand, individual scriptures mean much more to me now.. i will sit down and look up some favorite passages from time to time and feel like its the first time i really "got it" - without the jw goggles on.
i love matthew chapter 23, since i think it describes to a tee the situation in jw congregations.
i think if jesus returned today, he would blast the elders and "leaders" of the borg in a similar fashion (along with most religious leaders) .matthew 24 is actually more interesting to me now, simply because my whole life was waiting for the 1914 generation to end sometime during the reagan era!

A Visit From The Reformed Village Strumpet
by snowbird inafter a nervous breakdown, i stopped attending meetings in 2005.. i still live in the same place, have the same phone #, and work at the same job.
after about two visits by the elders to "encourage" me, i have been pretty much left alone.
my college daughter is still very much a zealous jw, in fact she was on the circuit assembly program 2 weeks ago.. well, this rabid jw, who once caused a scandal by her most un-jw-like conduct, (i refer to her as a reformed strumped) is calling on the woman who lives across from me.

RANDY WATTER'S DAD JUST DIED
by Mary inrandy watters, owner of freeminds.org father just died a couple of hours ago from pneumonia and alzheimers.
he was 86 years old.
as randy has been tireless in his efforts to help countless people come out of the wts, i would like to express my sincere condolences to him at this time.. .

my own story 2
by James_Slash ini got up to the point where i spoke about my daughter.. so in 2007 i was stopped from seeing my daughter by my ex-wife with the help of her good standing jw family.. my mother is still a jw and remains as one.
we both suffered lies and slander perpretrated by this family which continues to this day.
in late 2007 i was cleared of any wrong doing and i retained a relationship with my daughter.
