another family destroyed by jehovahs happy organization

as i sit down and type this i have realized that if i could have seen into the future and known that this post would need to be created (for my own peace of mind anyway) i know i would have never given the jws a minute of my time.

a little background: i have been a jw for 20 years and found a wonderful woman in the religion she was a pioneer when i met her, an elders girl but that did not matter to me , it was and always has been her compassion and love for people that endeared me to her and we have been happily married for almost my 20 year tenure as a jw.

we have several children one of them is a teenage boy.

EA, what a horrible way to treat family. I completely agree when an organization has that much of a hold on you to shun your family then something is REALLY wrong.

although she may no longer be a virgin to give her titles like whore and prostitute are completely wrong.

My heart sank and tears came to my eyes when I read how your in-laws treated their granddaughter and how HER OWN parents allowed and accepted this course of action.

I truly hope both of your neices can get the professional help they need. They are young and have a full life ahead of them. You are a God send to keep showing love and supporting them. They have no one but you to lean on.

When someone is interested in a topic, what in the world would cause someone else (I'm pointing at you "Ugottabejoking") to post a "Nobody cares. Next!!!" reply (with three exclamations!!!)? If YOU don't care (and I am sure there are many who don't) YOU don't need to reply. Just follow your own advice and say "Next" -- just go to the next post. By saying "Nobody cares" you are attempting to speak for everyone. Why not leave it to those who want to discuss?

Does ANYONE understand bossy people who put their noses where they don't belong, attempting to speak for everyone? Oh wait...Elders, GB members, etc. do that. Nice one Ugottabejoking.

this thread is for any interest in cigars, what kind you like, don't like, questions, answers, whatever.

Craigslist ad for a JW...

just wanted to share an exerpt from what must have been an apostate ;) in a local craigslist add in my area:.

I do not smoke cigars and most I think smell terrible. There is one brand I like the smell, a family member has smoked them around me. They are illegal in the states but they smell divine.

my wife and i have not even been df'd for a week and an old friend on fb (an inactive jw who has active jw friends who used to be friends of mine) says there's a rumor going around that i'm gay.

my whole freaking family is still in.

i am 5th generation and i use to have tons and tons of "friends" that are still in.

when i was little my dad was co substitute for years so we got to travel alot and meet even more jws.

CJ I can only imagine what you are going through. The fear of losing family and friends is traumatic especially when you were raised a JW. That has been my whole life....completely immeresed in the religion. ALL of my really close friends are JWs my immeidate family are JWs and a husband who is very active.

I appreciate ALL who ask and give their experiences. It helps me to process what may transpire and try to get my head around the realities, which scare the crap out of me.

while an earlier version was made available privately the time has come to 'progress'.. conscious class and ex both strongly adhere to not keeping things 'hidden' in regards to wts publications, talks and documents which are circulated in order to maintain it's position.. another wonderful poster (who has yet to give me permission to name) has 'reduced' and 'bookmarked' the first full copy link i was given by our 'winner'.. in this newest and final 'clean' copy link you find two other additions besides the reduction/bookmarking..... the brother who uploaded the entire book wishes all to have a copy that includes both boe ltrs (pre-ks ltr and spiral binding ltr).

also another development has occurred.... the brother responsible for this book being brought into light and put forth for public consumption and discussion has requested i post this letter explaining to 'us' (jwn posters/global audience) and 'them' (wts of penn & ny).. i ask you give attention to his words/ experiences as he is representative of a newly emerging demographic within the conscious class.
