Sue,
Is your husband gender misidentified?
I have several transvestite and transexual friends. There are support groups available for him.
Also, you might want to watch the movie Cabaret with him.
life is a cabaret old chum, come to the cabaret.

Since there are no witnesses in Iran Iraq Saudi Arabia and few in China, Indonesia, Bangladesh and "this good news of the kingdom must be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness and then the end will come, I'd say we have 100s of years left before the end can come.

Sports Illustrated 6/25/01
by DB insports illustrated, in its june 25, 2001 issue on page 76, reports that jerry hairston of the baltimore orioles had been "baptized as a jehovah's witness" last july.. at times, according to the artcile, hairston's passionate play on the field, charactarized by end-over-flips of his bat after strikeouts and exasperated shrugs during arguments with umpires, gives other players the impression of cockiness on his part.
i'm a passionate person.".
the article mentions that after hairston slammed his bat to the ground after popping out on a roger clemens fastball, he got a long staredown from clemens.

Just shows as with the Williams sisters that slapping a title on yourself, Jehovahs Witness, Christian, etc. etc. etc. is basically meaningless.
Groups smoops, its the way we treat others that is important. This type of anecdote shows that.

Dear Its,
I can feel your pain. I ended up in banking where I have been a misfit my whole life. I make good money but I am not happy because I am not where I want to be. I just don't relate to the corporate banking world. Like trying to dress up a pig you know.
I suggest that instead of concentrating on an occupation that will make you happy, that you find one or more avocations (hobbies) that fulfill you. It will make you happier without the pressure of trying to readjust your work life (although you might also think of taking some classes in a field that interests you). You will be surprised at how much keeping busy with interesting stuff will change your outlook on life.
In 1975 it was pretty clear to me that the end was no where in sight. I spent the summer at an educational program for gifted students in Georgia called the Governors Honors Program. Only 400 students were picked to attend each year. I went in the Mathematics interest area. It was the best 6 weeks of my life. It was wonderful being around kids who knew so much about stuff I was interested in and liked to talk about it. I was like the dumbest kid there, but I didn't care, I learned a lot. My mother was terrified that armageddon would start while I was away from home. Unfortunately, I went back home and let my friends and family talk me out of scholarship offers and even attending college.
At some point though you have to stop looking back and start looking forward. I attend college now studying Math. I garden, write poetry, work on my web site www.joelbear.com, and do some community service. Whatever you choose to do, remember to LIVE LIFE. It is glorious.
As Auntie Mame said, "Life is a banquet and most the poor suckers are starving to death."

Beauty..Where is it? What is it?
by ISP inwhat makes someone 'beautiful' to you?
has it changed over the years, so that you consider something else?
what attracts you to someone?

Beauty is that which makes us feel more alive. It is present almost everywhere, sometimes it takes more work to uncover it.

Wounded spirits...saddened hearts...life is short
by DannyBear inall of a sudden this day, my spirits tumbled, my usual inner peace, turned sour.
it was like a veil or cloud that decended on me, a feeling of intense sadness.. anyone visiting or posting to this board over the last few days, has witnessed the 'wars' waging around us.
i was very much a part of them, feeling a sense of relief that they were over.

Message boards are tough because you get all kinds of people, those who seriously want to communicate and those who see it as an opportunity to taunt. Even serious posters go through moods. You see me in all my moods. I post when I am mad, sad, happy, depressed, excited, etc.
I try to never say negative things about other posters, but sometimes my anger gets the best of me.
I think the best thing to do is to keep positive new topics flowing and not to spend your energy in the flame wars.

What is G-JOBBING for Bethelites?????????
by JT inhad enough asked :.
if you haven't already related to us the experiences at bethel that you told to your mom-in-law, (or even if you already have told us) could you tell us about what you told her.....and...what is "g-jobbing" (sorry for my naivity) .
i didn't want to take away from sl post about his mother but i thought a little insight into the world of the bethelites would be interesting this am.

Well, I loved Bethel.
I was at the farm and worked in the subscription department. I worked with Sister Knorr for a while. She was a sweetheart.
The only weird things that happened to me there were the Home Overseer freaking out because my roommate used a bethel towel to wipe up a spill in our room rather than using a rag and the time my work overseer got onto me for not using a proofing marker long enough before going to get a new one. Oh and the already mentioned fighting for food after meals.
I loved my job. I loved having roommates to talk to about our day. I made many friends. I had some great times. I loved watching the sunrise over the Shawongunk mountains in the fall.
Unfortunately I also really loved walking through the men's showers after work. This admission is what got me kicked out for sure. I think they would have let me stay even after telling a brother I loved him, if I hadnt told them that I still walked through the shower room every afternoon after work. Well, I had gone cold turkey for 3 weeks, but that wasn't long enough.
They were very kind to me. They told me I would be better off pioneering. I was on the regular pioneer list 6 months after leaving bethel.
So, I have mostly fond memories of my time there.
