Fred, how can your masters be Jehovah and Jesus. The Bible says you cannot serve two masters.
I remember a kingdom song that went,
You cannot serve 2 gods, two masters cannot share, the love of your heart in its every part to neither you'd be fair.
So, unless you believe Jehovah and Jesus are the same person, you are saying you serve two masters.

the watchtower was extremely preoccupied by what they called aluminum poisoning, and they published death rates because of this in their magazines.
the increased use of aluminum cooking utensils was the reason for the problem, they said.. not everyone who uses aluminum gets cancer, of course, but all stand a chance of getting it, they wrote in the the golden age september 23.

as many may know, i'm still a teenager.
i'm not willing to reveal my age, which is one less than 17 or one more than 15. but i just wanted to get your guys' opinion on sex before marriage.
a lot of people here have kinda lost their "watchtower" and biblical standards as i have gathered.
I advise all young people, hetero and homo, to delay sex until they are out of their teens. I simply don't believe they can handle all of the associated complicated and very adult decisions that come along with taking part in this most adult of activities.
For girls, I advise strongly that they remain virgins until marriage. Men's drives will lead them into doing anything to get sex from you. You are more valuable than to give it up to someone without a commitment from them to partner with you and help build a life for your and your offspring.
Of course, no one ever listens to me, but I keep saying it.

the wt definition of "only in the lord" meaning only dedicated witnesses of jehovah in good standing greatly narrows the field of eligible mates.
this has brought about some unusual unions because of the circumstances, involving people who would ordinarily not meet, let alone marry, if it were not for a shared belief system.. what unusual couplings have you seen in your jw days?
how large was your personal field of possibilities and did it include some unusual options?

I dated as a JW from the age of 15 to the age of 30 when I blossomed into, well, you know what I blossomed into.
Since I was an auxiliary pioneer, then pioneer, then Bethelite, then pioneer again, I had a good bit of attention from spiritually minded sisters through mine and a couple of neighboring circuits.
Of course, they knew not what frustration lay ahead of them.
Joel's dating ritual.
1. Approach sister at circuit assembly or wedding.
2. Go out with sister with large group of friends.
3. Astound sister with Bible knowledge and ability to get group to decide on restaurant (experience with field service groups proves to be of value at last).
4. Take sister out and treat her with utter respect while simultaneously dazzling her with effective gifts (note: if the brother you are dating has better taste in jewelry and fine gifts than you, you probably ain't getting any that night).
5. Meet sister's parents. Impress them with spiritual goals, knowledge, etc. Ward off suspicious looks from mother who has heard from her daughter that you haven't touched her yet.
6. Date sister for 5 or 6 months or until her frustration level peaks leading her to believe that she is unattractive and that is why you haven't copped a feel yet.
7. Break up with sister or await sister breaking up with you. Move on to next unsuspecting sister.
I actually make light of this. But my guilt involved with hurting these unsuspecting sisters was a major factor in my eventually leaving.
I did kiss a sister once, Labor day 1986. It was most unpleasant.

I agree with You Know that harder times are ahead. I differ with him on the timing. I think we probably have 50 to 100 years left.
Man has turned his back on his natural state and has strived instead to replace it with a "dollar" state or what I call a fiat state. Fiat being a declared value placed on something that has little or no real natural value. Fiat profit is meaningless in the long run as it has no natural value. Only nature and natural resources have natural and therefore renewable value. As man has placed his faith in a fiat system rather than a natural system, he is doomed at some point. You can't eat money. You can't drink paper profits.
Subconsciously knowing this, man has also created a fiat savior. A savior which has no real natural power, but only the power which its adherents give to it through their belief. This fiat savior is the god of religion who men say will just appear and fix everything that man has brought to a ruinous state.
Man is an animal, a dangerous one, since he can manipulate his natural environment in ways that damage it, for all practical purposes, permanently. He reproduces at an astronomical rate, eating up more and more resources from his ecosphere.
In 25 years there will 10 Billion people on the planet, more and more animal and plant species will be extinct, ecologies will continue to be strained by urban sprawl. It will not be a pretty picture as the limited resources of the earth are used up at a faster and faster pace.
The end of the word began when man took his first step out of the jungle.
I agree with You Know that an end is indeed imminent in comparison with the billions of years the earth has existed, but this tiny planet is just a blip in a mega universe that won't miss us.
My advice. Live your 70 years breathing in the wonder that is life and helping others do the same. Live your life as naturally as you can, not overdemanding resources from the environment around you and again helping others do the same. We may lengthen the time that man is able to enjoy the planet before its used up.

My mother is also in the good heart condition camp. I agree that many many witnesses feel as she does. I think most witnesses believe that a lot of good people will turn toward the watchtower org when they end is closer.
But, that just brings you to another question. What is a good heart, what is a good person? We are all sinners, yet some of us are deliberate sinners and are therefore worse, even though Jesus died for all our sins, but we have to try to stop sinning to prove we are faithful to god, but we can't stop sinning because we aren't perfect, but some of us commit worse sins than others or sin more and therefore aren't as good since if we believed in Jesus we wouldn't sin as much.
Seems to me that the people who trust Jesus the most are the ones who believe that he died for all our sins, so we get in as much sinning as possible. So we have more to be grateful for for being forgiven.

Prince is a great musician. To me, this simply proves that Jehovah's Witnesses have a product that fits certain people's needs at certain times of their lives. For some, this time lasts longer than it does for others.
