With all the 'math' JW's find in the Bible, how long is it gonna be before they announce a new "Theocratic Math School"?
That'd have some interesting 'counsel' points, eh? Explain how we blew it with 1799, 1874,1878, how we 'saved' ourselves on 1914, why 'millions aren't still living' since 1925, how we never really said anything about 1975,etc...
have I left any out?

what happened in france 2 or 3 years ago that led to that campaign they had?
was it the tax issue, something else or a bit of both?.
I know they're running most of their French operations out of the English branch. What would it take to get them taxed in Germany? That's their primary publishing branch in Europe. I'd love to see them scamble to fill that hole!

I was grabbing a quick bite to eat with a friend with family in Bethel. He said some kind of big news was a-rumblin' up there, but they couldn't wrangle it out 'em. We speculated a few things (How 'bout some 'Other Sheep' on the GB, or maybe just dropping the rheteric and putting a picture of the GB on a WT with the caption: ' We Are God' :-). Anyway, had no idea it had anything to do with the FDS. Hmmm... Interesting. Was there anything like that talked about at the conventions? (those that have taken place, that is. I'm in Dallas where they're early this year).

What strikes me is the individuality of the experience. This soulfulness is obviously extremely personal to you (as it should be). I absolutely agree that each person must find their own spirituality in "every aspect of creation."
So may I ask you (at the risk of taking off on a tangent!), what do you believe to be the draw of large, organized movements (like the JWs)? Just the comfort of conformity?

if a family member is df....or whatever....if jw are supposed to be christian....why do the cut you off....god is a loving god who loves all his children...and why is it that you have to go through an "exit" interview...like its a job or something?
there are many unanswered question i have...but this is just one of them to start...it seems to me that its hypocritical...
Of course, Q, it's very hypocritical.
The Witness organization, claiming to be God's sole channel on earth, places themselves in the place of God, speaking for (in effect prophesying for) God. In the eyes of Witnesses, "the society says" is the same as "God says."
JW DFing is just another example of why men should never be allowed to exercise excessive authority over fellow humans.

i have to wonder what the average witness today knows?
i guess they are under orders not to talk to anyone that might actually be able to inform them of any facts that are negative or unflattering to the society, but what have they found out anyway, through whatever means, even the publications?.
1. do they know that russell got a lot of dates from the measurements of pyramids, including 1914?

I wish I knew the answer. Perhaps I would have had a different life. Having grown up a witness, one thing I can say is that from a very early age you are constantly reminded that EVERYONE ELSE IS WRONG. As a witness, you have "the truth" and however sincere others are, they are simply wrong. After a while, I don't care who you are, you start to get an elitest attitude that makes it easy to shrug off others.
This young man sounds like a nice fellow, and I'm sure he's not consciously displaying this attitude. But the longer you're associated, the more ingrained in your subconscousness it becomes. I should know. I was that nice young man once.
