true, it doesn't say where in the fourth generation but as they were to be in egypt for 430 years then if they return in the fourth we're looking at generations being divided up into approx.

Does the soul or spirit exist?

so in one sense, you could say that science is simply not providing any answers to the question about the existence of a soul or spirit component of a human being.. .
that, of course, keeps science polite to religious ideas.. .

Well, I'd have to say there's a wee bit more mystery to the interior workings and origins of humans than Fords and Chevys. And I'd say it's that lingering mystery that people continue to point to, if only subconsciously, to dismiss anything scientists say. Too bad. Wait until you know it all and you'll spend all your days waiting.

With all the 'math' JW's find in the Bible, how long is it gonna be before they announce a new "Theocratic Math School"?
That'd have some interesting 'counsel' points, eh? Explain how we blew it with 1799, 1874,1878, how we 'saved' ourselves on 1914, why 'millions aren't still living' since 1925, how we never really said anything about 1975,etc...
have I left any out?

What happened in France?

what happened in france 2 or 3 years ago that led to that campaign they had?
was it the tax issue, something else or a bit of both?.

I know they're running most of their French operations out of the English branch. What would it take to get them taxed in Germany? That's their primary publishing branch in Europe. I'd love to see them scamble to fill that hole!

I was grabbing a quick bite to eat with a friend with family in Bethel. He said some kind of big news was a-rumblin' up there, but they couldn't wrangle it out 'em. We speculated a few things (How 'bout some 'Other Sheep' on the GB, or maybe just dropping the rheteric and putting a picture of the GB on a WT with the caption: ' We Are God' :-). Anyway, had no idea it had anything to do with the FDS. Hmmm... Interesting. Was there anything like that talked about at the conventions? (those that have taken place, that is. I'm in Dallas where they're early this year).

Soulfulness leads to spirituality

What strikes me is the individuality of the experience. This soulfulness is obviously extremely personal to you (as it should be). I absolutely agree that each person must find their own spirituality in "every aspect of creation."
So may I ask you (at the risk of taking off on a tangent!), what do you believe to be the draw of large, organized movements (like the JWs)? Just the comfort of conformity?
