Too fat for the kingdom of God !
by koolaid-man informer jehovah's witness servant dick borghi along with elders in the lowell, ma.
congregation were asked by the circuit overseer to vote on whether to disfellowship overweight brothers and sisters.. this was very troubling to dick for two reasons.. 1... brother borghi thought it would be the responsibility of the faithfull and discrete slave to lay out a precise directive on the basis for this unusual request.
what criteria would have to be met to make such an awkward decision?.

without hesitation listen to the conferance call before making a premature evaluation"
Oh, my I'm glad i read that a second and third time... e-val-u-ation, e-val-u-ation...
my mind kept telling me the last word had a syllable like "jack" in there somewhere. Whew!
good gravy
Good gravy for sure...
I knew this business of stopping at Dunkin Donuts for break everytime while in service just wasn't going to pay off.
Oh, and do beer bellies count?

servants meeting with CO...
by stillin inboring and irrelevant or what?!.
when i was appointed, i thought that i would share in building up the congregation.
the co is usually a company man making reports and passing.

Well there was this youngish CO named Palen who equated apostate literature with a menstrual blood stained rag.
And said aloud during his first meeting with the local BOE, "Well this is what they are offering!", and he thrust his right hand out and swung it with pinched thumb and index finger, left and right, as if he were holding a rag and shaking it in front of our faces.
"Well, what are you going to do? Aren't you going to recoil in disgust?" he said, "Well, that's what your response needs to be to apostate literature!"
Day after on Sat. morning he held up the WT and Awake! in the same manner while talking about presentations.
Strange thing is I immediately got a mental picture of him holding a WT and Awake! and put that together with what he was saying to us elders the previous night about the blood stained rag.
He sure had some very vivid illustrations.

Some thoughts on the WTBS and money
by JeffT init is a common meme on this board that the leadership of the wtbs is driven by financial considerations.
as my may know, i have been working in financial management, particularly involving real estate for a number of years.
i've been thinking about the society's finances and i've reached a conclusion, either they are not motivated by money, or they've done a piss poor job of pulling it in.

I think that if money is the motivation they have done a stunningly incompetent job of obtaining it.
The motivation could still be money, but their incompetence in handling money could be the reason for the saying "there's a right way and a wrong way and there's also a Watchtower way of doing things."
How many times at Bethel did you hear that no matter if someone had a better way of doing something, the way the watchtower did things would prevail above any ideas to improve or benefit anything.

Q: How do you know when The GB is lying?
A: When they're making everyone wait and wait to eat their quickly cooling freaking breakfast while they do their morning worship tongue exercises.

todays WT study...the picture...?
by stillin ini wish i could scan it and get your thoughts.
it was a picture of a happy group of witnesses during a meeting for field service.
there was a. comment from a local high-horse-rider about a brother in the front row in the picture being disobedient.

It's the facial hairyness of the bro on left who's looking down and not at the direction of the conductor, he needs to shave, he's ashamed and isn't properly attired since every other bro wears a coat and he doesn't. He's been tagged as BA and will be getting spoken to by the elder in the backroom before heading out in service for sure.
:-)))
Yeah, it's a cult!

Way to go Bro!
Thanks for sharing this Iclone.
I do hope he tries to counsel you with something along the lines of what you said and you can put him in his "righteous" place.

Are you sure leaving is a wise decision ?- Lurkers think twice- Part 2
by mankkeli inin the previous thread of this series, i called lurkers attention to the need of being discreet when contemplating an exit from the jw religion.
i mentioned that the thread was borne as a result of the general observations i made reading old posts here and discussing with many ex-jws and their lives have gradually turned out.
that thread alone was visited more than 2,980 times and graced with 204 contributions.

Sounds like Mankelly is really trying to encourage lurkers to think outside the KH box for a bit...
Well, my solution is to stay in and work from the inside to help others become conscious and open their eyes to the truth about The Truth.
So, don't make a pariah out of yourself, follow the course of so many who've become "conscious class" insiders, ready to gnaw away at the foundation of the WTS, the "concept" that keeps so many people captive.

The Merrimack congregation in NH is seeking to buy land and build a new KH, the NH RBC has plans to build a $750,000 (that's right a three quarter million KH). "The Branch" has wanted to build a KH between the cities of Concord and Manchester NH for quite a few years now.
Unfortunately the WT has looked into their resources, local bank account is over $100,000, and they can contribute $2,000 monthly towards a mortgage. Well, it seems the WT doesn't think that's enough to lend them the money from the KH building contributions fund.
So, the WT has suggested they ask nearby congregations for assistance.
That's right, other congregations are being asked to take out new loans with the WT, or extend their current KH remodeling loans, to the tune of $50,000 in order to supplement the cost of the Merrimack Congregation's KH.
Who will own the building once it's paid for?
Are you ready for the answer?
Wait for it...
Wait....
Yup! You guessed it...
"The Branch"
