I wanna ask you something
PSac, I can only tell you the WT thoughts to that sense that is all I have. Becuase I have no idea. It would talk a ton of research in that subject alone for me to give you an answer.
many argue that the truth will always be the truth because of core beliefs: no hellfire, no trinity, no immortal soul, adam and eve lost paradise (and thus paradise on earth will be restored and the need for the ransom), the issue of universal soverignty, last days, loving brotherhood, using god's name.. most people are attracted to the truth becuase of at least one or more of these beliefs and refer to these often as the 'ring of truth'.
this makes it very easy to then shrug of any of the past mistakes or any current teaching that is hard to understand or believe.
i myself am struggling with this.

As difficult as it is to realize it, it was all a fantasy.
This is what is hardest for me. All my hopes and dreams are centered around the idea that I'll live forever in a paradise. I mean everything! This is why I am having doubts about my doubts, not matter how reasonable, legitimate, and logical the "negative" doubts are. I hate cognitive dissonance. Makes me want to take another serveral month break from thinking this way.

Ok, lets see with your brotherhood: Call 10 different JWs at least some Elders and tell them the exact questions you have posted here. Tell them you have doubts. How about sending them an email. Wait and see what kind of responses you will get. Guess what would happen? How many responses would you get? How soon until the Elders meet with you to help you with your questions..... and wait till the end of the meeting and see how you feel.
I'd love to do this but think I'd be shooting myself in the foot. Is there a more subtle way to do this that would not result in meeting with the elders?

Do me a favor when you get a chance... click on my user name, go to "topics started" by me and read my very first thread...my very first post. You'll see yourself in my first post. Read the rest of the thread. You'll see that I was accused of being a troll. And you'll see people who sincerely tried to help.
I can say that I relate to where you were when you made your first post. I'll have to review that soon.

But what about the idea that JWs have experienced more growth than these other religions and thus this shows they have God's blessing. Therfore they must be God's organization. This is what type of claims are made in the Proclaimers book as regards other religions or splinter-groups compared to JWs.

Do people every make comments about the 'ring of truth' for other religions? Is there any validiting to uses these points as showing this is the true religion? I realize there are other religions that believe many of these things. But which ones believe all of them other than JWs?
what would happen?.
aren't these three related things some of the hardest to explain to interested people?
most jws don't focus on these teachings at first and will instead focus on more appealing bible teachings.
I should clarify: drop 144,000 in the sense of it being literal.

I think most everyone has some issue really believeing these to some extent. Some even have said that if there was a change to these that it wouldn't bother them.
What would happen if these teachings were abandoned? Could the rest of the "truth" still hold up? Or, are all somehow related to these 3 things?
i can understand many argue that scientifically it is impossible for the earth to remain forever (sun dies).
what is wrong with the argument that god could refuel the sun?.
The 7000 per day thing.

Well I still think saying "lie" is a bit harsh since they qualified it with strongly indicate.
But I see your point. What is stated is obviously wrong.
