I agree with how ridiculous this is. It promotes wrong motives. All it succeeds in doing is showing how LITTLE love there is within this organization. Time out for a kid? Give me a break.

How Wonderful
by dearone inan elder in my hall gave an experience of why it is so vital that we do not speak to disfellowshipped ones.
a sister who was disfellowshiped was of course not able to speak with her daughter or see her grandchildren.
it was difficult for the family to 'adhere to bible principles' but in time the mother/grandmother missed her family so much she returned to the truth.

Brand New: Currently Totally Devastated
by daringhart13 ini'm brand new to the board.

Hi Daringhart! I am new to this site as well. I have only been here for about three weeks. I left for many of the same reasons that you did. That scary feeling does go away. It is not completely gone for me, and I think that it will take years for it to completely go away. (I was born in) But it does get better. It took me about a week to get comfortable enough to tell my story, but it did help. There are so many caring people on here. You will feel the love that you were supposed to feel within the Organization. Feel free to PM me anytime! I love correspondence and communication! And I would love to know more about you. Hang in there, it does get better, trust me, WAY better than you ever thought possible!

Sd-7----- Crazy? I was crazy once........ But really, your post gave me a great laugh. I feel for you though, I know how hard being df'd is. It made me go crazy too, Crazy? I was crazy once.......
Okay, Okay, enough of that. I think I will try to pry my husband off of the couch and make him take me somewhere fun. Just in case that isn't clear enough, "somewhere fun" does not mean the memorial. If that isn't clear enough, ..... I will not be going to the memorial.
Quick question, what if you think that you are one of the annointed, but you are not 21 yet? Would you obey God's law rather than man's, and partake anyway?

Wow, everyone here makes more than me when I was in the working world. The job market here in the midwest of the United States is so bad, I am going to school to get an associate's degree, just so I can MAYBE make $14.00 an hour! It is very hard here right now!

I'm new and wanted to introduce myself
by MarkedFragile inhello everyone.. i'm new to this forum.
i left the organization several months ago, and am on a new path now.
though i didn't grow up in the organization, i have basically lived a life of pretending to be something i'm not, sheltering my feelings from everyone, and not feeling "enough" to anyone.

Hi MarkedFragile! I am new to this forum too. I think you will have quite a different experience here than you did in the JW religion. I know that I have. There are alot of new people coming here! I think many have felt disillusioned and tricked by the organization. We come here to heal! So welcome, and happy healing!

JW sister told my newly widowed mom that it would "look bad"if
by aquagirl inif i took her to the memorial this year.im df'd for years, but out of love and respect for my parents i always gave them this one night.my mum dosent drive.i was going to drive her and sit by her.i promised my dad that i would always do this for him.he was pretty cool, even tho he was an elder.my "devout" sister {who has never lifted a finger to help my parents}told her yesterday that it "wouldnt look good" for me to show up w/my mum, altho everyone knows that i have done everything for my parents, both before my dad died in december and since.
is my sister just jealous that i have a fabulous life,am beautiful, rich,a guitar god, have excellent cool hair, xray vision, can communicate with aliens and have supernatural abilities?
or is she just mean?lol..btw,i am going.and im taking my mum and we are going to sit in the front row,and yes,im gonna wear velvet.....

Ha! Your sister sounds alot like mine! I feel for you! You do what you think is best, and don't worry about what your crappy sister thinks or says. Her judging you just makes her feel better, (obviously pathetic).

Do JWs believe in the Pangea?
by Diamonds insorry this might be a really stupid question, but it's been so long since i've read any jw material, been in contact with them that i don't remember!
i know they believe the earth to be billions of years old, but wasn't sure about whether they 'agree' with the pangea.. thanks.

You know, I was raised as a JW, and I was just thinking this same thing the other day. I recall asking my dad about it one time, and he just said that it didn't really matter one way or the other. It is possible, and we know that Jehovah created the earth, so, the details were kindof immaterial.
I have wondered that same thing myself though. I will keep an eye on this post to see if anyone else has an opinion about this.
