OK, I really don't have a preference of HOW, but I will tell you this much; I want to see it coming. I had a near-death experience about 21 years ago, had a few seconds to see it coming, have it really sink in what was about to happen, and it was amazing.

Why amazing? Because I had a moment to prepare, collect my thoughts, make my peace, feel life like I had never before, nor have ever since felt it. Yep, I wanna see it coming head-on. I wanna fucking fly and move with it into oblivion . . .

this sister in the video below calls us "stupid", "slanderous" and nearly says, "libelous", but oh, darnit, it's not a word she is use to saying .

this lady has about 125 vids talking about the jw's, the wtbts and stuff.

she goes against the wtbts's admonition against having such a channel and against engaging apostates with admonition of her own to dole out.

A reason christs ransom makes no sense to me

do you remember the old jeff bridges film ''the last starman''?.

basic theme was an extra terestrial energy life transmogrified into a human and impregnated a woman with a seed that would become the savior of humanity.. hollywood is an old hand at using good v evil sort of messages that have ideoligical ties to the bible and the 'need' for mankind to be saved from themselves.. what gets me about this particular film is that the savior to come was there for all humanity.

no conditions were placed on how many from what nations could benefit, nor was salvation only for those who 'believed' or were smart enough to read visions or hidden messages etc.

God did not kill his Son. People killed His Son. God sent his Son for us, to show us the way to Life. He knew what would happen to Christ, yes, but that is not the same as causing it to happen. If it could have been any other way, then I believe it would have been...because Jesus asked His Father to take the cup away from Him, if possible. I might not understand everything, but I understand that much at least.

Yes, fine, but isn't that cheating? I mean, Jesus was resurrected after being put to death. The forfeited life is the ransom paid in full. The life was not actually forfeited and no actual ransom was paid if Jesus just gets to be resurrected and skip on his merry way while we all get to suffer and die with some lame promise of eternal life in heaven or paradise earth, take your pick, with absolutely no precedent to back it up. We are the ones whom the ransom was paid for. God made off with the ransom, the Indian Giver, and left the victims behind to remain suffering in the hands of the extortionists. Awesome god!

How Many of Them Do You Know About?

after flipper's thread about the wt child abuse cases, i started to think about how many children i know of personally who have been sexually abused by a jw!.

as someone who is not especially 'in the know', it's amazing that i do know five of them.

one who was a small baby, at the time!.

I never heard of any cases while I was in (for 30 years). There was this one creepy elder, however, that use to massage my shoulders when I was prepubescent. Hmmm . . .

apparently, i am so out of the loop and did not know bill bowen has been disfellowshipped from jwn.. could someone kindly give me the short version or post a link that lays out the narrative so that i can understand what happened with him .

Yes, sweeny, I didn't start the thread to bash Bowen. I once spoke with him on the phone about a situation, and we exchanged some ideas and suggestions. We had a very nice conversation and never spoke again. I recently heard that he'd had his membership deactivated over some crazy stuff, and so, being the blunt person I am, I asked.

I have the bigger picture now.

Simon is obviously a communist and hates the plurality of America and her freedoms!

LOL, ew, creeper! I think she speaks tagalog. My uncle was from Manilla and he had the same accent. I can just smell the adobo wafting from the kitchen! Yum!
