hello everyone, i know you have heard this topic before and your probably thinking.
...not again lol.. but i was wondering if anyone has thought of going back for the same reasons as myself, i don't think its the truth but i searched and my conclusion is that other religions don't have the truth, they are all wrong in my opinion.
if there is no other religion to go too, why leave were i was born and raised.
When I first came to this site under another name in 2003 I thought sometimes about going back. I guess there was a part of me that thought they still might be right.
After reading here over the last 10 years I know that it is not the truth.
What would be the point of going back?
It would just be a waste of time that could be used more positively and productively almost anywhere else.

i would have to say that ray franz was the biggest influence for me.. when i first got on this board, a poster by the name of james, a former bethelite and organization heavy, helped me understand a lot of the inner workings in the upper echelons of the society.. .
and of course, farkel's common sense approach was (usually) helpful..
And I forgot to mention Simon and this site - which put the last nail in the WTS coffin.

here are some survey questions that will help me make some important decisions.. if you were ever going to actually buy a book about an ex-jehovah's witness conscientious objector who went to prison, would you:.
a. prefer the book to be 8 1/2 x 11 ?.

I have stopped at your posts for years - I posted under another name before and always treasured any time you would answer.... I think you are one of the very best here....
My preference would be 6x9 and would pay any price.....but as a member of the general public who does not know you the upper level would be around $20...
I will certainly buy your book, and though I only come here on intermittently now, just to check what is going on....I will always look at what you have to say,
My only thought is that what you are writing would most likely appeal only to Jw/xJw's and I wish it could hook into a wider audience somehow....
I know it has been touched upon by others, but perhaps a connection to others who have been taken in by other cults as well...
Probably most xjws are already familiar with you....and there needs to be a connection to those who are not so familiar with all the jw shennanigans...

The "BIG" A is just a fear-mongering way of controlling people and getting them to do what you want them to do.
there was an 16 year-old-girl in our old hall who was convinced by an ms that she needed to get baptized in order to be a more eligible, desirable and qualified potential marriage mate.
i should also add that this brother was interested in her even though he was 15 years her senior.

when i was a kid, i researched the origins of the religion and realized that the witnesses were an offshoot of adventism.....we're you surprised to learn something about the witnesses that you didn't realize?.
When I first came to this board in 2003 and learned about the financial holdings - and then became aware of the profit-making book-selling operation I was pretty surprised and found it to be chilling. To actually come to believe that the GB's motives are not so pure was surprising.
The thing that really shocks me the most is that human beings are so ready and willing to give up any responsibility for their thoughts and actions, so willing to be controlled without thorough investigation and some healthy skepticism and questioning - but we see this everywhere.. It is a pretty sobering state of affairs.
