Mr Stewart said: "Jehovah's Witnesses believe that the only way to finally end child abuse is to, as they put it, 'embrace God's kingdom under Christ' and to 'love God with all your heart and your neighbour as yourself', so as to be saved when the end comes," -

Do not Disassociate, Anull your baptism
by jwfacts ini am now a jedi, so trust me on this.. .
why dis-associate, you are just playing by the wts rules?
how can you dis-associate anyway, you never thought you were baptised as a watchtower society member, you thought your dedication was to god, so why formally disassociate from something you did not formally join?

Yeah, if anyone tries please let us know how it goes.
One of the reasons it might fail is that the elders manual makes it very hard to actually pull it of. And if you say all the right things and manage to persuade the BOE, they are then supposed to call bethel for future instructions. So they might not grant it even if the BOE think it needs to be annulled...
It is important that you where sinning before and during the entire process because that is proof that Jehovah could not have accepted your dedication to him.
Don't forget to read everything about this before trying it, the elders manual is a good place to start.

Funny, I never thought of this. This is not true for all languages. In my language they say "sister/brother last name" during the meeting but after an before the meeting they use the first names. Sometimes they say "sister/brother last name" jokingly because it sounds so "serious".
I believe it might have something to do with culture?

There's been a lot of research by scientists and sociologists on this so caution is the word here.
flipper do you have any source for this claim? I just find it boring and ridiculous sitting through a meeting after I woke up. You see through the manipulation and lies, I don't think it has any negative effect other than that you might get irritated. Once you know TTATT I think you are pretty much immune to their deception.
This is of curse my personal experience so some source to your claim would be very interesting.

Regarding giving false hopes to you daughter, I think if this is a risk. Going could be a bad idea, some have had relatives reconnect with them when they realized that they will never come back. It will be a setback in this regard if you give your daughter hope.
Also, if you decide to go I would suggest as many others have. That you make it clear to your friend why you are going so there wont be any misunderstanding or any idea that you are approving their decision to become reinstated.
But as I said before, I don't see any reason to fear the JW indoctrination after learning about TTATT as many of the other posters here do. If you think you can help your friend by going to the meeting I think you could do it, but remember to include the effect this will have on your daughter before make a decision.

Judicial committee letter to elders
by Israel Ricky Gonzales inwarning: this is rather lengthy.
i thought i would post this information that i took with me to my judicial committee.
the elders promised that we would talk about everything that was bothering me, yet, we ended up talking about less than 10% of it.

After he went into the kingdom hall, the presiding overseer and the elders of the congregation asked him while he was in the back room and said: “Do you believe in the governing body?” In reply Ricky said to them: “I will also ask you one thing. If you tell me, then I will also tell you if I believe in the governing body: Will only Jehovah's witnesses survive Armageddon? Yes or no?” But they began to reason among themselves, saying: “If we say, ‘Yes,’ he will say to us, ‘What about all the people who never got the chance to hear the good news, and what about the children?’ But if we say, ‘No,’ he will say to us, ‘Why then do you preach? Why do you claim that you are doing a life saving work if they will survive Armageddon anyway?’ ” So they answered Ricky: “We do not know how Jehovah will judge.” He, in turn, said to them: “Neither am I telling you if I believe in the governing body. -

People have been reinstated to save loved ones from the ORG. If you want to attend a few meetings to support and help a loved one I find that very kind.
Hope you manage to plants some seeds while you are at it ;)

The talk and the "attitude" towards inactive once where: be kind and gentle with them. They don't need to be told that what they did was bad, they know this already. We need to help them back with love. Showed a video of how a inactive one was afraid to attend the memorial because she thought she would be received badly and then when she did go she was hugged and love bombed. People where admonished to seek out and help "weak once".
Don't think there was a lot of porn mentioned either, not much of that when Jesus lived ;) Think it came up briefly a few times, not sure.
