Welcome to the board.
Read 2 Tim 3:16, 17.
Do you believe those are inspired words?
Now ask yourself: How can I be a Jehovah's Witness?
this is my first post on here so bear with me.
currently i am still an active jw with serious questions about the jw org.
i was hesitant signing up but really need as much input from the people on this forum to get a clear understanding on things.
Welcome to the board.

Now ask yourself: How can I be a Jehovah's Witness?
i would just like to know why people are always treated like you have to be depressed or have some type of serious mental issue if you try to leave?
you cant just leave because its not for you?.
.
It's called: PROJECTION
long time lurker, first time poster here finally looking to get some things off my chest.
i've always been a very curious person with tons of questions about everything, and i also care deeply particularly about societal issues like social injustice, racism, and homophobia.
that, coupled with how boneheaded all the elders in my congregation are (except for one), led me to ask even more questions that led me to find ttatt.. .
Great story and similar to most of ours!
Very wise to take it easy on the wife....people need different amounts of time to digest they've been part of a fairytale ....... love her and be open for discussions.....
so, about a decade ago there was a big scandal in my city concerning an young elder raping his 13 year old sister in law.
the elder got reproved but was never turn over to the police.
the girl's mom was an immigrant and very uneducated and decided it was best to forgive after the elders, whom one was the young elders dad, instructed her to remain silent and rely on jehovah.
I have a question: is the poor wife still a JW?
is your life over?
are you totally screwed up?
are you able to move on?
I have a deep, deep anger about the heartbreak they have.......and are going to......put my mother through. All she ever wanted was to be loved and spend eternity with animals.
It was all a lie.
I can't even type about it.
i see there is a special meeting held by the gb at bethel a week before the annual meeting.. .
wonder what that will be about?.
.
Jehovah has given them "new light".........or maybe just one of them. Nonetheless, they need to discuss this exciting 'new light'
Maybe they are reviewing their progress with Jesus command to promote his website.....
there is a thread on jwtalk suggesting that the latest hall designs do not feature a literature desk.
the dubs will pick up gear from a self serve kiosk in the hall, just enough for their immediate needs.. time will tell if this is true but if so then it relfects the reducing emphasis on printed material.
also, i think there is another by product.
Oh no....one less 'privilege' for brothers to reach out for
many outside are now aware of the scam.... the brother announces a "deficit" at the assemblies.
what they dont announce is that the so called expenses include a predetermined donation to the branch.
meaning, the assembly hall is paid for so the basic expenses should be utilities, maybe some speaker expenses and a 52nd share of property taxes and the like.... however the "deficit" always seems to run into the thousands with "expenses incured" totaling 7-10k.
And to think JW's won't even look into this
i was speaking with a jw yesterday.
i'd previously mentioned the removal of the brackets around 'other' in colossians 1 making the mistranslation complete.
during our chat he said that the previous edition of the nwt was the more correct one, that the revised version was simply more readable and that it shouldn't be considered the best translation.
I always appreciate these deeply knowledgeable threads ....so many students on this site!
However, what does it all matter?? They don't even follow the Golden Rule.........they don't obey the Bible, for examples Psalms 146:3.....
....so in the end, what does it matter what translation they read from? They only follow men.
i stumbled upon this website a few weeks ago due to the jw.org ridiculousness, since then i haven't been able to pull myself away.
the thoughts, feelings, and concerns i have had the past few years aren't just mine.
it's global.
Welcome....prepare to experience a wide range of emotions. Some of us have traveled the world and studied hard to get to the bottom of something we were 'born into'.......
You're not crazy. It's a cult.
