There is a girl that works in another departement. When I get bubble wrap at work, I put it in an intercompany envelope and send it to her. She always knows who sent it.
I'm going to send her a link to this today.

i find it completely ironic that people thank god for food and clothing, when if you look at the ot in genesis you see how yahweh curses the ground and tells man that he will work his ass off for food, shelter, daily life.
why are people giving thanks to a god who knowingly made life hell to begin with?
couldn't it be said that man works for his own food and that he should be thanking himself?
I've told this before..but I'm saying it again.
My husband (never a JW) always..always..prays before eating.
One time I said..."what are you doing?"
he said, "giving thanks for my food."
I said.."who are you thanking? I'm the one that prepared it."
He said.."I was thanking God...for you."
ain't that sweet.

just got done with a 3 hr.
argument with my family.
the essence of the conversation was that since im not going to the meetings, aka: in the organization, im not a good person.
I'm sure many, if not all cults use the same reasoning/nonreasoning with their members.
When the members are too afraid/busy or whatever to ever see any thing more than what they currently know, they remain stuck.
Sad, very sad.
I don't think you lost at all....but it would have been more fair, if you'd had back up with you.

and she told me that was absolutly not the case.
she laughed and said that would never happen - that they needed it and that where ever i had gotten my infomation from was absolutly wrong and that i could tell them so.
she then told me that the public talk had been shortened - and i said that i had heard that it was 15 minutes shorter - the fact that i knew that kinda threw her.. but the book study would never go.
he saw my Christmas tree (yes - it's still up, I can't help myself...it's just so damn pretty)
hehehe...that's so cute........my first Christmas tree was left up for an entire year. I redecorated each month for a new holiday. February had red stuff and hearts, March had green stuff and clovers, April it was Springy, July was red white and blue, Oct had little skeletons and spiders...ect. different colored lights for each holiday.
it was a six foot fake white one, right in the center of my living room window..on it was also damn pretty.

ok, so a recent post about the godfather got me thinking what a massively sheltered life i had growing up, .
and all the classic r rated (or otherwise offensive to delicate jw sensibilities) movies i must have missed.. i am not easily offended now, and am open to pretty much any genre.. i have a lot of catching up to do, so i could use some help-.
what are your all time favorite movies, "inappropriate for christians" or otherwise?.
Anyone remember Saturday Night Fever? Not only were we not allowed to see the movie, but when the TV version came out, with all the good parts cut out, we still were not allowed to see it.
Did finally see it years later.

just got home from 2 nights in the hospital.
i was kicked by a horse.
broke the big bone out of the joint and busted the small bone... which was just one layer of tissue from being a compound fracture.. doc reduced the dislocation while i was concious... i dont think we need to experience that sensation again.
When I was in the hospital with 2nd and 3rd degree burns, the nurses would wake me up to tell me I need to breathe deeper.
You'll be up and better soon..well not REAL soon, now that you are closer to 50 than 20, it does take a bit longer.

why didn't you use your cell to call 911

and i was thinking about my reaction to it.
i woke up at 4:40 in the morning because the bed was shaking and the thought process in my head went along these lines, "the bed is shaking.
mike is out of town.
Here's my experience with the earthquake last week:
I'll copy and past it straight from my MYSPACE page:
Yesterday morning, I was sitting here reading about Ghost Hunters had came to a town near me.
Quote:
GREENVILLE - "In my opinion Memorial Hall is haunted," said Reed. "There is paranormal activity. I don't believe that whatever is there is evil, though. Sometimes spirits just need help moving on."
While going through the evidence of the investigation at Memorial Hall, the Darke County Ghost Hunters found some startling discoveries.
In pictures, they found orbs and strange streaks of lights referred to as rods. In one picture of the auditorium they found two shadowy figures standing towards the back of the room.
"We usually take a series of at least three pictures just to make sure something isn't going on," said Mike Wherry, co-founder and investigator, of how they try to explain strange images.

Then after reading a bit about that, I typed in my town and ghosts, and was reading about suposedly other haunted houses or places close by.
then...suddenly my chair started vibrating..and shaking a little. At first I thought a truck was going by..but it kept on..then the windows were shaking a little, and the pictures on the wall were vibrating I could hear and feel it. I looked at the cat, staring up at the pictures. I couldn't decide if I was freaking myself out, because of what I had been reading, or if everything was really moving.
Just as quickly as it started, it stopped.
I turned off the computer, got a cup of coffee for Oz and went to wake him up. I told him about what I was reading and what I felt or thought I'd felt.
Then I turned on the TV to see what the weather was going to be like and I saw this:
Quote:
SPRINGFIELD — Some said they felt their house shake, while others thought they were having a dream or bad indigestion.
But a few who were brave enough to ask, "Was there an earthquake this morning?," were not as delusional as they thought.
Many residents around Springfield said they felt the earth move Friday, April 18, as a 5.2 magnitude earthquake rattled buildings across the Midwest.
The quake happened at 5:37 a.m. and was centered near West Salem, Ill., about an hour from Evansville, Ind., and was felt as far as Columbus and Atlanta.
The tremors around the Springfield/Columbus area measured around 4.3 magnitude, said Glenn Larsen, a geologist with the state Department of Natural Resources.
There was no damage from the quake reported in Ohio
I was hoping for ghosts...but this is pretty cool.

got a letter today from a really nice guy who was in the bs group that met in my home for 10+ yrs.... privy to some of the huge issues my family has faced.... smart enough guy, ubm, at least one grown kid in and married into a huge 2nd/3rd generation family, grandkids yada yada...... he saw, but did not speak to me, at the school performance i alluded to in another post........ http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/156961/1.ashx......... as far as i know we never even made eye contact..... it was a crowded event in an elementary school but i saw him as he and his wife arrived late and scurried for seating.
at any rate.... this is part of a letter that came in the mail today ..... i cannot believe the spin that the r&f are fed and seem to swallow down without the fava beans and nice chianti ( i do not mean to berate his heartfelt and genuinely offered plea.... i just cannot stomach the blind allegiance to the b0rg) .
i have talked to a few of the friends about what can be done to encourage you and your family and decided to simply put a few thoughts in a letter.
if you have a scab you have to pick off your heart before it can start working again. And if that scab stays where it is and thickens, you will absolutely see things happening at the same time everyone else in Jehovah's organization does and will sit in misery not being able to move.
Scab...gross.
don't be pickin' your scabs.
You dented pan, you.
