i was speaking to my mom on the phone yesterday, and despite my trying to avoid it, we got to talking about wacky jw topics -- again.
actually, it was nearly unavoidable, since she had just returned from her summer convention.
aside: nice way to celebrate your wedding anniversary, mom & dad; at an assembly!
I've been out for 18+ years and NO elder, including my own dad has ever came to inquire about me. No one, ever tried to contact my children and encourage them.
I would have went back if ANYONE, elder or jwfriend, had showed up during those depressing years and tried to shephard me. Thank goodness they didn't
Them damn worldly people were all over me trying to help though. I'm better now..thank you worldly people

i feel at the moment to keep posting on this site is doing me no good.
i used to post here many years ago and came across many things jw related that made me feel angry towards the way i was brought up.
in particular the 607 issue and the generation change.

any of you that know me also know i was df'ed because an elder had an outcome in mind, and that was to keep me quiet about a pedophile in the congregation.
he was partly able to do that by using a sister (friend of mine and also another elder's daughter, who was on my jc)by getting her to incorrectly quote me as slandering the pedo's ms brother to her.
awww...how cool is that?
I know that had to be hard for her to admit..but very brave of her. And very mature of you to accept.

i do.....enjoy creating images...right now for fun....someday, as i learn more , for fun and profit..... all my images are compositions.
one thing i need is a good digital camera to build a stock library...i also enjoy taking pictuers of friends and others and placing them in various old move sceens and such....any other shoppers out there?

Can I tell you a true story..too bad..here it comes anyway.
last saturday, I got an email saying a sexual offender had moved into my neighborhood,
long story short, it's actually a kid that photoshoped him and his friends faces onto some porn pictures for fun...but some of his friends were 16-17 and he did his photo shop stuff on his church's computer.
but now's he's a registered sexual offender.
love photo shop myself, but haven't gotten alot of practice. any tips you'd like to share?

in the course of a conversation (it started with the fact that the convention is in town and i work near the site and i was stressing because my family was across the street) i asked my mom if she was upset because i made her choose between me and her family.
she couldn't answer.
after silence she said, "i always said i would die for you so i guess we'll see.

when i was active, i was always (usually) proud to talk about being a jw, our faith, reasons for our stupid beliefs on birthdays, x-mas, etc.
now with everything i'm going through, given how much of an impact this is to my life, i want to talk to others about it, like coworkers, and other friends.
but thinking about how i would explain how it's a mind-controlling cult, i feel stupid for falling for it.
As a kid I was embarrassed to admit I was a witnesses. and i felt guilty because I was embarrassed.
as an adult, I mention it only if it is part of the conversation, or for anti-witnessing purposes.

Wow..I'm glad you decided it was time to start living your own life. Sounds like considering all...you did pretty good, kids and grandkids free woo hoo.........
and... if you're not happy, and the other person, ole grumpy pants, doesn't want to help rectify the situation..get the hell out. Half of what ever is in any accounts, is yours, you are married, you are entitled...Get a attorney and make sure you get what is yours.
Also...stop washing, ironing and cooking for him. He's a big boy, he gonna have to get used to it.
While you are getting yourself together, get counseling, and help from a women's group. They'll all rally around you and help you. You'll feel like a new woman.
And keep on writing.

I guess they were Hair Bands ...
not so much Head Bands.
Yes...Should have known those Head Bands of course they demonic...it all makes sense now....Those Evil Head Bands always give me a headaches.
