  New to Halloween...What do YOU do?

  i've never celebrated halloween (too bad none of you live around here - jacksonville fl), but for whatever reason, i have alot of good memories from the anticipation of the various holidays as a child (i'm originally from a state that actually had seasons), even though we as jw's did'nt participate.

  i still remember being at friends' houses, seeing them apparently happy and found myself wishing that i could have something to look forward too that was fun and not just the memorial (such a solemn occasion).

  i have swore to myself that when (and if) i ever have children that i will celebrate them (the holidays + birthdays) as would want them to have some of the memories that i was denied.. am i making too much of this?.

  Just had the Watchtower and Awake dropped off in the magazine rack at my work.

  i found the aug 1, 2009 wt, and the aug 2009 awake in the magazine rack at my work.

  i wrote on the cover with a big sharpie, "1-800-why-1914, www.freeminds.org, and www.jehovahs-witnesses.net .

  on the inside cover i wrote: "warning: contains cult propaganda" any other suggestions?

  hi im new here but i came for advice im not a religous person but i'm in love with a jehovahs witness,.

  she says she also loves me very much but she wants me to jump ship and become a witness,.

  do you think there is some way that the two of us can be together or am i just dreaming,.

  sigh.....young love.

  I hope you get past this. I dated a 'worldly' boy. I did things I was taught was wrong. Then I felt guilty and dumped the guy. He was a really nice guy. He was such a nice person, that I didn't want him to know anything about the JW's. But I was too afraid to tell him everything....and I was too afraid to leave the JW's completely at that time.

  I hope you feel better soon.

  a recent asleep and a 80's brouchure somebodys reject from spring cleaning no doubt.felt good to trash them and cover them in dryer lint :-).

  I checked last week. The laundrymat next to the Chineese Restrauant still has no JW magazines.

  Either the JW's quit leaving them, or the laundry mat owners throw them away.

  Several years ago, I made it a regular stop to clean out the magazines, except for a few that I put stickers on.

  or: Save Jehovah's Witnesses Children from Child Abuse and the link to Silent Lambs website.

  i still can't believe it.

  she was here for the bbq, we had an awesome time, laughing, her telling stories from our childhoods.

  i gave her a hug and told her i loved her before she left.

  hi everyone...i have a confession to make, i actually joined 5mths ago, but never came back to the site.

  ive had doubt for a few years now.. my parents came into the truth when i was a toddler.

  no other family members are witnesses.

  You aren't going to make your children go though what you went though growing up, are you?

  Let them be normal kids.

  Keep reading...everything you can find. This will ease your doubts.

  Don't tell the elders anything. They are not the boss of you.

  It's a Birthday Party..and the invitation says "No Presents Please"

  the woman is a co-worker and she is turning 70. the invitation just says, to stop by sometime between 2 and 5 for refreshments and help us celebrate.

  the last line says no presents please.. .

  does that really mean no presents, or am i going to show up with nothing and find a big table covered in wrapped gifts?
