last night i was at my 'friends' house she hasnt been to the meetings for about two years now, but let's have it said: in the twelve years i have known here shes done about two good stints of attending, been dfd and gone back etc.
she lives with her boyfriend.. well i happened to just mention something about my family and she launched into this whole don't attack the witnesses you know its right barage at me.
i hadn't even mentioned religion.
I guess you have two choices, just accept that the friendship has ran it course, or face it head on. Meet somewhere for for tea, and talk. Put it all out on table.
I'm thinking, she'll contine to preach to you, but it's ok to buy her kids gifts.

i just need to vent.
my husband and i live in the same apt complex as my jw in-law family.
they have family visiting from out of state and there is a big family dinner tonight - but omg its not a thanksgiving dinner.
How 'bout you throw a kick ass party of your own. One that is so loud that the police get called. Oh..you don't know any of those kinds of people. Invite me and I'll bring the loud crowd.

My husband and I always play 'spot the JW' at Tim Horton's. He'll say...there comes a couple.
Me, ...hmmm...no...the woman has on pants or the man has a mustache or nope that man doesn't have a suit coat on. ...Sorry no way, they just got out of a 2 door car.

its starting to seem like a distent memory for me, even though its only been a year.
I remember times I wish I could take a pill....and about the same time, 60 minutes did a show on "A Pill To Forget?" I think it was aimed at rape victims, but it was possible to be used by others that had experienced horrible experiences they were having trouble getting past, causing them to miss out on life.
But now...I can look at my past and find humor in most of it. Like when my grandkids on their way out to go Trick or Treating, I told them to go out and do some "door to door work" they all just looked at me, didn't have a clue what I was talking about, my daughter, rolls her eyes,
