so, one of the things that is catching me off guard is that i have forgotten how to pray.. as a jw we were all told to pray, but when we really look at it, the prayers are just as structured and mind numbing as those of the catholic church reciting the rosary.
what caught my attention was stephen at act 7:59 where he calls on jesus (not jehovah) to receive him.
he prayed to jesus.. yet, as a jw, the prayers you always here begin like this: "jehovah god, our loving heavenly father..." and end in "in jesus name, amen".
So if a Christian jumps on an thread dealing with an strickly Agnostic or Atheist issue they are being self righteous, pushy, and accused of proselytizing and everything else. Why do the Atheist feel the need to jump in on a thread about prayer like this one? Are you trying to convince us or yourself that praying is a waste a time.
Keep praying Cinciguy74 or talking in to your Oatmeal can, whatever makes you feel closer to God.

so i am in my first semester of college, and i'm really enjoying it.
i am already tired since i work full time in addition to going to school full time, but i will get over that hump eventually.
anyway in my english 101 class our first essay due was to be a personal narrative, 4 pages(ish), in mla format using microsoft word.
One of my first essays in English 101 was about my JW experience as well. It's good material and can really help the healing process. Keep writing.
Pentacostals? Assembly of God? We call them AG here. They are very supportive of each other and some of the nicest and genuine people I have met. Could never get into their worship though, but that's just their way of worshipping. I have no problem with it as long as it works for them.

N.Drew- We've all been kicked off of here probably once. Simon and the mods do a decent job of keep things from getting out of hand. Even if we don't agree with them we have to remember it's a labor of love for them. They have real lives too. Asian Massage Parlor? Lord, we have plenty of those happy ending joints. My Reiki healer didn't do anything more than simply rest her finger tips on my Chakra points. No massage or joint manipulation as I mentioned in my story. I am aware that some Massuses incorporate Reiki in their work though. I believe I just got straight Reiki on Saturday.
