The wife and I visited London in 2006. Did all the things tourists do. The London Eye, Picadilly Circus, Big Ben and The House of Parliament, Tower Bridge, toured Buckingham Palace, Harrods,Trafalgar Square, and The Tower of London. We hit 12 different pubs when we were there. I know some Americans don't like the food in England but I really enjoyed it! Would like to go back again to see the English countryside. While in the pubs and out and about, we found the people to be very nice.

Elder keeps calling and calling and calling
by troubled mind insince the sheparding visit a few weeks ago i have had three phone calls and two drop bys from the elders .
we have been gone both times they stopped by (but our son saw them and did not answer the door ).
the phone messages are directed to me not my husband, and the one left today he sounded a bit on edge .

just ignore.....we screen all of our phone calls and we don't answer the door unless we are expecting company. We have a bedroom on the second floor that enables us to see who is knocking. It's kind of funny...my wife tip toes around the house when a JW knocks on the door. I carry on with business as usual. If they happen to look in and see me that doesn't mean I'm going to answer the door. My house, my rules! If they look in the windows they might see something they don't want to see!! It's actually quite funny how many times someone will call or stop by when they are being ignored! Eventually they will stop.

When I knock over a glass of water at dinnertime thats a spill.......Pumping thousands of gallons of oil into the oceans on a daily basis should be called something else.

Has anyone here ever had Lyme Disease ?
by troubled mind ini am going to the doctor today because of a strange 'rash' mark on my arm .
two weeks ago we were pulling out an old bush in the bakyard when i felt something poke or bite me on the arm .
i just shook my sleeve out and kept working ,then the next day i notice this red ring like rash that is clear in the middle about the size of a quarter .

troubled mind.....with the type of work I do for a living I deal with a lot of ticks and insects. Over the years I've had numerous ticks on me. With my experience I've never actually felt the tick bite or attach itself to me. Usually it was more like..."Hey, I never knew I had a mole there" then upon further inspection I notice that mole is actually a tick! The little buggers are quite sneaky. Goint to the Doctor is the smartest thing. Good Luck!

Have you ever made prank phone calls?
by asilentone ini have never done it and i would not do it ever.
the reason why i am asking all of you is because i am shocked that one of my classy facebook friends admitted making prank phone calls in the past.

Did you ever feel let down by the Bethel tour?
by maninthemiddle inreading jeff's thread about dress made me think of my one and only trip to bethel.. i can't remember if i was babtised at the time, but i went with a bus load of jws.. like someone said in the last thread, printing presses and empty rooms.
i was very disapointed, however i don't think i had any pre-concieved notions of what it would be like.
what i was diapointed in was so much of the "tour" was walking hallways looking at exhibits behind glass.

"I never went on any Bethel tours, but on the day of my wedding, my parents took my brothers. I called, "are you coming to my wedding tomorrow, mom?" Mom: "No, we will be taking your brothers to Bethel to show them what is really important."
That was 1993, neither of my brothers attend the meetings, and I'm still married to the same man."
lisa, I'm sorry for that. It sounds like something my father would do. I had to walk my sister down the aisle when she got married because she stopped going to meetings years earlier and married a "worldy" man and there was no way he was going to give her away to the world. So I did it. They are still happily married 14 years later.

I'd rather my wife be 20lbs overweight than 20 lbs underweight.
Their faces are pretty but some of those Sportis Illustrated swimsuit models are just plain nasty!

by sayitsnotso inif jws don't have the truth; if there is no paradise earth; if there is no end of this system; if death is all there is, then what hope do we have to look forward too?.

when I was a little kid I would use this one on my Mom......"Why should I make my bed in the morning, I'm only gonna get into it this evening." Didn't work then!
