It must be remembered that the thousand year reign is not the reign of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ reigns forever. It is the anointed christians who will rule or reign WITH Christ for a thousand years. It is their rule that is one thousand years--not Christ's. Jesus Christ began ruling after he ascended to heaven, that's why Hebrews says he was inaugurated as opposed to will be inaugurated.

Some ?s about the Memorial
by kristyann ini have some questions about the memorial... but i actually have one other question first.
i am signed on and posting and everything... but it still says "welcome guest" at the top and i can't access my private messages.
does this ever happen to anyone else?.
-
Inkie
Hi Kristyann: Sorry, don't know how to answer your first questions; however, the others maybe.
You ask: "How is the date for the Memorial calculated?"
By the first full moon nearest the equinox. The memorial is almost always celebrated on a full moon. Once the new moon is sighted, you count 14 days, that 14th day is Nisan 14. Actually though it is calculated by the "aviv" regarding the barley in Israel. The barley has to be at a certain ripe point or "aviv" before any new moon is determined.
My other question is... what would happen if I ate the bread/crackers and drank the wine at the Memorial?
You would be resurrected and receive everylasting life. Read John 6:53-57, which reads:
Accordingly, Jesus said to them: "Most truly I say to you, UNLESS you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in yourselves. He that feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has everlasting life, and I SHALL RESURRECT HIM at the last day. . . . He that feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood remains in union with me, and I in union with him. Just as the living Father sent me forth and I live because of the Father, HE ALSO THAT FEED ON ME, EVEN THAT ONE WILL LIVE because of me."
What would they do? They might ignore you. Or, might try to dissuade you from taking the next emblem. Or, they might try to instruct you to reject what Christ offers to you in the future.
I'm not a JW. That is irrelevant.
I am extremely young (I know most people who take it are old).
This is also irrelevant. "For the promise of God is to you and to your children and to all those afar off, just as many as Jehovah our God may call to him."--Acts 2:39.
They get outraged if just a regular member takes it and not someone claiming to be the "annointed,"... so what would they do if this girl that they'd never seen before came, attended the Memorial, and took the wine and bread out of nowhere?
Why are all the ones claiming to be annointed so old?
You have to know their history to understand this last one. Back in the early 1900's they believed that the end of the world was neigh and thus the heavenly calling (being anointed) had ceased and that's why at this time (with few exceptions that they strangely explain away) they are all old.
Hope this helps.

shunning spiritism ?
by A Paduan inwhere did they get the blanket idea about shunning spiritism ?

and if you are willing to accept it, he is eli'jah who is to come

Greetings All:
Don't you have to first define what "spiritism" is? It has always been my understanding that spiritism is the alleged speaking with the dearly (or not so dearly) departed--those who have died. Check your dictionaries. (I will too.) Communicating with "other" spirit beings (like angels--good or bad--or Jesus, or Jah) is not spiritism. 1 John 4:1 states:
"Beloved ones, do not believe every inspired expression, but test the inspired expressions to see whether they originate with God. . . ."
Doesn't this statement pre-suppose that communicating with spirit beings (other than the departed) regardless of whether they are good or bad is going to happen thus our need to "test" them?
Anyway, just my two cents.

examples of the use of jah are found even in many peoples' names such as: isaiah (meaning salvation of jah), jeremiah (meaning jah loosens), zedekiah (meaning jah is righteousness), zephaniah (meaning jah has concealed), zechariah (meaning jah has remembered), abijah (meaning my god is jah), etc., etc., etc.

Greetings:
Do you not know that "Jah" is the legitimate name of God. The name Jah is found throughout the Hebrew scriptures. Have you not tried reading a Hebrew interlinear to see this? Examples of the use of Jah are found even in many peoples' names such as: IsaIAH (meaning Salvation of Jah), JeremIAH (meaning Jah loosens), ZedekIAH (meaning Jah is Righteousness), ZephanIAH (meaning Jah has concealed), ZecharIAH (meaning Jah has Remembered), AbiJAH (meaning My God is Jah), etc., etc., etc. The list goes on and on.
The name of God as described in Exodus, which name we know as Yahweh or Jahveh simply means Jah Causes to Become. The name Jah can be found in many places in the Bible and is a legitimate name. Jah is the name. Anything added to it before or after just defines or describes Jah is all.
If you have the big Reference Bible of the New World Translation, check out page 1562, top of the page, and it will show all the references for this form of the Divine Name.
Jesus is not just any messiah of any household god, he is the MessIAH (the anointed not just of any god, but especially and specially the Anointed of Jah).
The witnesses (the Society) know this, but play it down. The name of Jah is not slang, is not derogatory.

Honesty: What did Jesus teach? A good thing to do (in order to make easier on yourself) would be to find a Bible that has Jesus' words written in red. You know, those red-lettered Bibles. Read ONLY the red and you will see what Jesus taught. And as you go along, you can ask yourself does the Society teach these things? And I mean, not, does the Society teach these things in theory but really and in truth teach another? So many many groups whether they are religious or political or whatever (like the scribes and Pharisees of old) teach one thing (for their public image) but really and truly teach another thing, for which Jesus said: Do not do according to their deeds (the things they TRULY believe and teach).
Jesus said at the end of the 28th Chapter of Matthew: Go . . . make disciples . . . teaching them to observe ALL THE THINGS I HAVE COMMANDED. So then, the disciples were to teach all the things JESUS commaned. What did he command?
Jesus commanded: Love your enemies. Do good to those hating you. Does the Society teach this? No, really? Does the Society teach this? Or instead are you taught to shun them. Do not do good to them even if it's obvious that your enemies need help? You tell me.
Jesus commanded: Unless you eat and drink, you have no life in you. Does the Society teach you to eat and drink? You tell me.
In the narrative where the scribes and Pharisees disfellowshiped a man because he put faith in Christ, what did Christ do? He went in search of that man. Thereby telling us what to do by his example when a person is disfellowshiped for believing Christ. Does the Society teach you to do that? I don't think so.
Jesus commanded: Forgive. Forgiveness. Luke 14:2 I think it is, when a person sins against you seven times (in one day) and he returns to you seven times (in that same day) asking your forgiveness, Jesus commands you to forgive in that very moment, that many number of times. Does the Society teach such forgiveness? How many times have there been when individuals before a judicial committee have begged and pleaded asking for forgiveness from the judicial committee, and no forgiveness is granted. Is this following the commands of Jesus.
God! the list can go on and on. And it's pathetic how the Society and the congregations do not follow what the Christ commanded. Like I suggested, read the words of Jesus and ONLY THE WORDS OF JESUS and you will see what he taught in contrast to what the Society teaches, what the congregations teach, and YES, even what the apostles taught in contrast to the things Jesus taught. Look! Read! Slowly! Carefully! And you will see.

Hi Guys:
What Robert says is true. That is indeed the teaching of the Society. So, I guess the bottom line is, whom are you going to believe? Will you believe Jesus, when he says the things he says, or will you believe a group of men in Bethel, whom most of us will never ever meet? Will we believe Jehovah who says: This (Jesus) is my son, listen to him. Or, will we believe a group of men in Bethel for whom we have been warned by God: "Do not put your trust in nobles nor in the son of earthling man in whom no salvation belongs"? As I see it, either you believe God and Christ or you don't.

I made my own emblems and got my own wine...
by PinTail inyes, i made my own emblems except for the wine i got it out at the licker store, it was some good red wine we both drank it all during our little service, nothing added red wine, which is hard to find now days but i feel jesus understands, the witness's make big stink about it.
you know the bread is not half bad, we ate it all up like my wife said during the ceremony the apostles were eating supper so why would only eat a litter bit i am sure they were hungery spo they would not just eat a measly little piece like they do at the witness meetinngs.
i just put some flour in a bowl and added some water and whipped it up and dubbed it on a pizza pan and cooked it till it was rubbery to the touch of course i used some "pam" on the pizza pan first becase i did not have olive oil like they used.

Hi Shane,
It's good to hear this wonderful news. I totally understand what you described. There's nothing quite like having the Lord come into your home and grant you "his" peace, just as he said he would. Indeed, this was and is a truly communion meal. You asked a question about how often to do it. That struck a cord with me too when I first started eating and drinking. The Lord said that the bread was his flesh and the wine his blood and he said to eat and drink. I remember reading in McClintock and Strong's (an encyclopedia the Society has often quoted from, and misquoted, if you get my drift) that the early disciples did way more often than once a year. Don't get me wrong. If once a year is all you're going to do (because of your upbringing or teaching), I'm sure the Lord will be pleased. I am reminded of Jesus saying that he was the manna that come down from heaven. Well . . . how often did the Israelites eat the manna? Once a day, or often in a given day? And how often did they drink from the rock? As often as they were thirsty, right? Seems to me, you can eat and drink "often." But . . . that is for you truly to decide for yourself. Decide with your heart and your mind in sync asking the Lord to be present. I'm sure he will be. Anyway, blessings upon you and your family.
