WontLeave: You must remember that the "evening" of any given day is the "beginning" of the day for Israel. Thus, "sundown" is the "beginning" of the day, as well as the "evening" of that day. The lamb was thus slaughtered in the "evening" at the "beginning" of the day, not the end of the day. Therefore, Passover began on Nisan 14, at the beginning/evening of that day, eaten through the night, until "morning." Just like Genesis reads: And evening and morning were the first day, etc., etc., etc.

question about the memorial
by outsmartthesystem inthus far i've read some very compelling arguments regarding the memorial/passover being on nisan 15 and not 14. but i do have a question.
why does numbers 28:16 seem to indicate plainly that the passover occured on the 14th?
surely i am missing something, no?

To the Household of FSM, IPU, and Those Who Have Gone With ....
by OnTheWayOut ini say to those ones, "congratulations.
" you have figured it out.. .
the above is a fusion between the void (empty set zero with a slash through it) symbol and a drawing of a unicorn.

Quoting OTWO:
FSM or IPU could beat up Johashua Miscavah (spelling, so sorry) with one noodle or hoof tied behind their body (if they had one) .
Watersprout, no need to apologize for "his" spelling errors. After having read all of AGuest's post you'd think "he" would get the proper spelling simply by "repetition." Alas, sad. But . . . what does one really expect from a "G.E.D. Dummy"?

Any JW, please help- I need just one thing!
by moshe in--the name of a real live (not dead) member of the faithful and discreet slave class- someone who has admitted in public they are one of the f&ds and who can verify they have been providing the "meat in due season" for the governing body.
obviously the gb can't be the f&ds, because they are neither discreet nor do they have a position of servitude- no, they have made it plain they are the bosses over jws and jws have to obey their words, as if jehovah and jesus were speaking them, or else they will get the disfellowshiped.
just one verifiable name will do and how you obtained it.. the governing body claims that the f&ds are directing them and the worldwide work of jws, but they have never proven that they have a f&ds class they communicate with- just have one of the annointed call bethel and ask to speak to one of the gb and see what the switchboard operator does with their call.

Not only that but . . . .
The 24th chapter of Matthew says that the Christ/Messiah returns after the tribulation. It also states as the text reads here in Matthew that the FDS is appointed—when?—after the great tribulation and after the Christ/Messiah returns. Therefore, the great tribulation being a future event and the Christ’s/Messiah’s return being a future event—the “appointment” of the FDS is also a future event as the text reads here. That being the case, there cannot now be an FDS existing as the Society itself describes—not according to how the Bible states it here in Matthew. (Matthew 24:29, 45-46)
The FDS that exists today among JWs (or any other religious organization for that matter), is a classic example of those whom Christ described as “thosewho have seated themselves in the seat of Moses.” (Matthew 23:2)
However, for accuracy’s sake, the true FDS is none other than Jaheshua Mischajah and he was appointed long ago upon his resurrection and ascension to heaven.

And, of course, one of MY favorite “Those were the days” songs was written by
songwriters: STROUSE, CHARLES/ADAMS, LEE, and sung by the lovely Mary Hopkin:
Once upon a time there was a tavern
Where we used to raise a glass or two
Remember how we laughed away the hours
And think of all the great things we would DO
Chorus:
Those were the days, my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we choose
We'd fight and never lose
For we were young and sure to have our way
La la la la la la
La la la la la la
Then the busy years went rushing by us
We lost our starry notions on the way
If by chance I'd see you in the tavern
We'd smile at one another and we'd say
Those were the days, my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we choose
We'd fight and never lose
Those were the days
Oh, yes, those were the days
La la la la la la
La la la la la la [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/m/mary_hopkin/those_were_the_days_my_friend.html ] Just tonight I stood before the tavern
Nothing seemed the way it used to be
In the glass I saw a strange reflection
Was that lonely woman really me?
Those were the days, my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we choose
We'd fight and never lose
Those were the days
Oh, yes, those were the days
La la la la la la
La la la la la la
Through the door there came familiar laughter
I saw your face and heard you call my name
Oh, my friend, we're older but no wiser
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same...
Those were the days, my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we choose
We'd fight and never lose
Those were the days
Oh, yes, those were the days
La la la la la la
La la la la la laAaahhhh . . . nostalgia . . . what a wonderful thing. . . .

Reality 79:
Say, when did god ever command rape? Seriously, when? I mean, perhaps some of his people did do such heinous things, but what ever makes you think god commanded such rape?
No, back in bible times (or any other time for that matter) it would NOT have been OK for YOU to kill whole populations. Get real! YOU don’t have that kind of authority.
As for having “consensual sex with a woman [you] weren’t married to,” who says that you would have been classed as “wicked”? Really? Did Jaheshua (Jesus) class the woman caught in the very act of adultery as someone “wicked”? No, he didn’t. What ever makes you think (or rather, who made you think) that you would be so classed? King David while having sinned with Bathsheba was never classed as “wicked.” Why would you think you would be?
Please, re-read verse 18 of Malachi chapter 3 and get the sense of it.

Super Spook:
"What constitutes a wicker person?
Perhaps it might be a good time to read the third chapter of Malachi, verses 14 through 18, but especially verse 18:
14 “Y OU have said, ‘It is of no value to serve God. And what profit is there in that we have kept the obligation to him, and that we have walked dejectedly on account of Jehovah of armies? 15 And at present we are pronouncing presumptuous people happy. Also, the doers of wickedness have been built up. Also, they have tested God out and keep getting away.’”
16 At that time those in fear of Jehovah spoke with one another, each one with his companion, and Jehovah kept paying attention and listening. And a book of remembrance began to be written up before him for those in fear of Jehovah and for those thinking upon his name.
17 “And they will certainly become mine,” Jehovah of armies has said, “at the day when I am producing a special property. And I will show compassion upon them, just as a man shows compassion upon his son who is serving him. 18 And YOU people will again certainly see [the distinction] between a righteous one and awicked one, between one serving God and one who has not served him.”
This might answer your question.

for many years, i have posted exhortations and reminders as to what our lord said about those "in union" with him and what it takes to be in such union.

Jay88: You quoted Shelby and asked:
The alternative would be to go with my husband/his family to their KH. It may be that they (the family) partake there this year. They do at my house).
So this is a family affair? wow,.....interesting
In fact, Jay88, the celebration of the Passover (and subsequently the Memorial of Christ’s death) has always been a “familial” celebration. The Passover “law”--while done by the entire nation--was that it was to be celebrated in one’s home.
Read Exodus, chapter 12:
Speak to the entire assembly of Israel, saying, ‘On the tenth day of this month they are to take for themselves each one a sheep for the ancestral house, a sheep to a house. 4 But if the household proves to be too small for the sheep, then he and his neighbor close by must take it into his house according to the number of souls; YOU should compute each one proportionate to his eating as regards the sheep. 5 The sheep should prove to be sound, a male, a year old, for YOU . Y OU may pick from the young rams or from the goats. 6 And it must continue under safeguard by YOU until the fourteenth day of this month, and the whole congregation of the assembly of Israel must slaughter it between the two evenings. 7 And they must take some of the blood and splash it upon the two doorposts and the upper part of the doorwaybelonging to the houses in which they will eat it.
And the blood must serve as YOUR sign upon thehouses where YOU are.
Seven days no sourdough is to be found in YOUR houses.
In all YOUR dwellings YOU are to eat unfermented cakes.
none of YOU should go out of the entrance of his house until morning.
Then when Jehovah does pass through to plague the Egyptians and does see the blood upon the upper part of the doorway and upon the two doorposts, Jehovah will certainly pass over the entrance, and he will not allow the ruination to enter into YOUR houses to plague YOU .
It is the sacrifice of the passover to Jehovah, who passed over the housesof the sons of Israel.
