Howdy from Michigan. I seem to remember another poster a while back(another board?) that had the same name. Are you one in the same or just a coincidence?

Cover Letter and Letter of Disassociation.
by AK - Jeff ini am forced to either accept df'ing without any defense [i clearly have none against charges of apostasy], or to at least 'speak my mind' one last time as i exit, with a hope of perhaps helping others to 'wake up'.. to that end - i have elected to send a letter of da to the elders - but more importantly - a copy of it, with a cover letter, to several families in the congregation.
most of these things never have a positive result, i know.
but at least i have attempted in this way to give a little defense for my position.

Minor note here --- it was a decade later, 2002-2003, that much of this took place.
I liked how you capitalized, "Crisis of Conscience." If that isn't a dead giveaway...
You're almost there! Good job.

I say 'nay' to a lawyer. It seems it was a poor attempt at a practical joke(probably in the mind of the mover). If it were me, I would find out who this faculty member was and return the favor. Maybe even take it a step further and find out where he lives and then put a little "makeup" on his car. TP has always been a good, cheap decorative item. Molasses on the windshield works well too. You would think it would be impossible to get off, but a garden hose cleans it up nicely.

Allowed blood products by %, from KM 06, how can a JW not see thru this
by jwfacts ini have just put together a table with percentages that highlights quite simply what a jw can and can not have.
the wts does not present it in this simple format, as graphically it is quite obvious how senseless their stand is.

Easy question to ask(hopefully it'll kick start their brain into thinking logically) ---
- Are the four [prohibited] "primary components" of blood medically equal to blood itself?
Notice that we would want them to answer from a medical viewpoint rather than a biblical one. They should of course say "No" to the above question. But if they answer in the affirmative, ask them to prove it - or better yet, have them ask their doctor the same question and see what response they get. Either way, they will not like the correct answer because it will conflict with the WTS definition.
But on the other hand, if they take the true JW stance and say something along the lines of, "We are not interested in how the medical community defines the different blood components, but rather, we strictly follow what the bible says on the matter.", then they are in an even bigger pickle. Simply ask them to show you from the bible where it clearly states that the four primary components are equal to blood. Once they heehaw around that one, ask them where the idea of the four primary components even came from. After they have trouble answering that question, offer them a clue - the medical community?
The point of all this is to confuse the hell out of them. Twist their brain up into a pretzel. It's not confusing to a normal person, but to a brainwashed jw, this easy and simple logic will send their head into a tailspin. Hopefully it will just make them think on their own.

How Would You Explain The Stupidity Of The Blood Doctrine?
by minimus init seems like the witnesses are going to be told that they they now can take blood---at least some of it!
i asked my mom a few minutes ago if she would take blood fractions and she said "no!".
i gave her a head's up on what to expect from the new km.

It seems like the Witnesses are going to be told that they they now CAN take blood---at least some of it!
The last significant change was from a 2000 WT. This change included any fraction that could be derived from any of the "four primary components." This is still the case today regardless of the verbage found in the new Awake and Nov. KM.
I can't see them allowing any other components with an upcoming announcement. The Awake and KM article merely cemented it.

Try this site to see about how high you can hear. I can only hear up to(just barely) the 16.7kHz tone.
These types of ringtones are becoming more popular with kids due to their virgin hearing. The older we get, the narrower the frequency band we can hear. Ideally, the human ear can hear from 20Hz to 20kHz.
Jourles, of the it feels damn good to sit in a car with 60 cycles @120dB+ hitting you class

Tattoos are mainly for pagans, false worshipping and rebellious ones...
by FreedomFrog inaccording to the watchtower .

i just found this while i was doing my research paper for my communication class...can you believe this??

If you are a Christian, you would certainly not want to make markings on your body—even temporarily—that smack of paganism or false worship.
So am I to understand that this also includes the temporary CrackerJack tattoos that come in the boxes? Or how about those little face painting booths for kids at the fairs and other places? I mean, what is "temporarily?" Or can you go the other way and get a tattoo that does not "smack of paganism or false worship?"
Just another manmade rule like beards.
The other thing I was thinking of was -- what was your first reaction to someone who had a tattoo? What if this person was at the kh? Your "theocratic training" immediately analyzes the rest of the person to determine if they are a jw in good standing or a study. You check out the clothes they are wearing - from head to toe. Makeup, personal grooming, and attitude come next. You can immediately tell if the person sporting the tattoo is a jw or not(they could have had the tattoo from before becoming a jw). Even a true jw will go to great lengths of covering over a tattoo so as not to stumble their brothers. I knew of a bro who wore a t-shirt while swimming because he had a tattoo on his back and didn't want to offend the bros. And that's what it's all about folks. Remaining separate from the world. It is just another visual indicator of spotting a fellow jw in a crowd. It's the most important aspect -- all jw's need to 'look' the same.
