pssst, Scully
I've visited "The Farm" back in the 80's, whooooa, what an experience! I remember one experience there that one lady's placenta didn't "deliver" until 8 days post-partum. Yep, she walked around with the umbilical cord dangling between her legs.
We need to get together sometime and compare birthing stories. lol
(cbs) tuesday, may 31, at 10 p.m. et/pt .
the pretender .
a rising star at the new york times, michael finkel had just lost his job after fabricating a story.
kewl,
thanks for the info.
edited to add: ps, this past sunday's paper here in Salem Oregon, they had an article about Finkle doing a book on Christian Longo called "True Story".
*setting to record tonight's program*
has this happened to anyone else's kids?
my 18 month-old is the only one of my three to ever do this.. he actually stuck 3 of them up there, but i squished the first one out then pulled out the 2nd one with tweezers.
but i can barely see another one way back.
They had to operate on him to remove the peanut from his lung. He got over it ok, but it was pretty darn scary, especially with the risk of infection .
A peanut in a lung is very caustic to the lung.
When our youngest was 18 months he aspirated a peanut (post choking on it). While he was under anesthesia, they saw the peanut through the scope, but when they went to retreve it, it wasn't there. The doctor assumed it flew out when the scope was removed due to the pressure behind the peanut. Anyway, the sad thing was, he went into a severe asthma attack and had to be on a respirator for 3 days. (He was medically sedated) But it took several years for his lung/lungs to recover. Very scary.
Anyway, he is now a very healthly, happy 17 year old training to be a fireman. So babies do grow up and life does go one.
although, i have not been victim to the same level of damage from the wts as many of you on this site, i have noticed that it is very difficult to fight such a large entity with deep pockets and passionate (though misled) supporters.. .
since i am still in the very early stages of leaving/fading, i wonder:.
i have already spent the vast majority of my life sacrificially serving the interests of this org.
Nothing is black and white. One or the other.
There are always many, many options. Learn to be and go with the flow.
i just recently talked to my brother.
he got thrown out of my mom's house before i did, because he was constantly staying out late, going to clubs and coming home drunk, and my mom had enough of it.
the difference between us is that he still feels the dubs have "the truth.
Ask him what appeals to him with the JWs! Don't assume you know. Maybe for him its different than it was for you.
Point out to him how the JWs make your feel "stupid" because a lot of their dogma can't be explained. (It's their weaving of facts & fantacy) Point out to him, very gently, some inconsistencies that you are aware of.
Also show how they are a fear based religion (Armagedon, not havning family members, etc) And how they use guilt to keep people in their place.
I think a quick summary of the JW's in Apocalypse Delayed was good.
But find out where he really is at. Then go from there.
Good luck.
Joy
also show unconditional love and point out the JW's don't.
saturday seems to be much preferred over sunday, so this years bbq will be held on saturday, july 9th, commencing around 2 pm.
location is our home in weston super mare.
as usual, the day will be very boozy and proceedings will conclude in the waverley pub.
psssst e-man,
send jst2laws a note about how he needs to be there, blah, blah, blah, I'm still trying to get him to jump the pond. He hates the long flight.
recognizing that monogamy was nowhere proscribed in the bible other than "elders should be the husband of one wife" in the same breath as "hospitable" and "able to teach", how do you ex-jw's regard monogamy?
and is what's good for the goose, good for the gander?
and are you prepared to tell your partner about your non-monogamous nature and allow her/him the same latitude?
only with one girl at a time
that's called serial monogamy

She said that is sprouted before she realized something was wrong.
ROTFLMAO!
*snort*
read the questions from readers page 27 of the july 1 watchtower.
it talks about blood.. dueteronomy 14:21 reads: "you must not eat any body already dead" does that contradict leviticus 11:40, which reads: "he who eats any of its body will wash his garments, and he must be un-clean until the eveing"?
that is how the article starts out.
There is a motive behind this article and I hope they trying to salt the JW minds to except some future changes in the blood transfusion law.
I agree.
