Interesting JW / blood case (abdominal pregnancy)
by Scully inhemoglobin level was 6.9 mg/dl, and hematocrit value was 20.1%.
postoperative hemoglobin level was 2.8 mg/dl.
our patient's case was complicated, since she was a jehovah's witness and refused lifesaving treatment on religious grounds.

how sad. Too bad her doctor didn't use her blood he found in her abdomen (autotransfusion) because of "ethical" reasons. hmmmmmmmmm
"Operative reinfusion was considered, but both the patient and her husband refused this modality."
"Intraoperative transfusion was considered in our patient's case but was rejected by the attending physician as unethical." "When she refused transfusion, her physicians were faced with an ethical dilemma, based on the ethical principles of the Hippocratic Oath and autonomy. Do we do what we believe is in the best interest of the patient (transfuse), or do we abide by the patient's wishes (autonomy)? Her physicians, as well as the hospital ethics committee, believed that autonomy was the overriding ethical principle. " The article didn't mention how old her other child was, but that was her second pregnancy. -

I think most people were writing down their names and places on the back of Flat Stanely or the letter that came with him.

Are Bethelites more likely to leave the JWs than others?
by Gill inhave you any experience of families whose sons have gone off to bethel and then decided to not have any more contact with their family and jws at all very soon after returning?.
i ask this question because i know of two families where this has been the case.. the first family had three sons who one after the other went to the london bether to 'serve' within a couple of years of eachother.. after three years there all three returned home completely different people.
they then left home, left dub land, two married non jws and another lives with his girlfriend.

2 JWs Sent Registered Letters For "APOSTASY"
by minimus ini was told that 2 "anointed" witnesses that had recently (on the night of the memorial) picketed in front of the kingdom hall were sent registered letters inviting them to a judicial committee meeting.
the husband had told the elders when they first called last week that the elders should call off the meeting because his wife had once again had major tremors and had to be hospitalized due to being sent the letter.
and that the elders should realize that they would surely get legal action against them if anything happened to his wife.

Tour de France
by Abaddon ini've been following the tour since 1985 and am looking forward to this year's tour.
armstrong could possibly break his own record of six wins (consequitive) and retire with seven wins in-a-row.
thus far, only indurain has managed even five in a row (1991-1995).

yes
I hope Lance wins but it was great seeing Indurain in Atlanta for the Olympics before he retired. His wife was cute pregnant, too.
I have a hat that Lance signed back in the early 90's when he was with the Motorola team.......wonder how much it would be worth on Ebay.
Anyway, we'll be watching everyday to see how the Tour goes..............go Lance.
