  My message to the Governing Body - The Results of the 2011 Global Survey

  excuse the rather pretentious title of this thread, but it has been decided that the best way of getting a message to the governing body is just to post it prominently online.

  whether they choose to condescend to read the survey results or not is up to them, but the likelihood is far greater if i publically "throw down the gauntlet" via our web pages.. anyway, my message to the governing body (in case you want to read it) together with the 2011 survey results in downloadable pdf format can be found on the following link:.

  • Actually you can wear what u like...BUT... remember the 3 U's

  1. U will / may receive council
  2. U will / may be shunned
  3. U will not be given any parts or assignments like handling mikes... if they don't approve.
  4. It will depend on what is excepted in your area and if your elders approve (nothing to do with what God approves of)

  • Some question you need to ask yourself are:

  1. What do you want?
  2. Where do you see yourself in the org?
  3. Are you ok with others telling you what to do, what to wear?

  Is it possible to be friends with a devout Jehovah's Witness?

  just wondering if it's possible for a non-religious person like me to be friends with a devout jehovah's witness.

  as i understand they don't like to mix with us lower life forms.

  any thoughts?.

  suspending for a minute the realisation that it never happened and instead looking at it as a beliver would.... jesus had to endure a painful death, yes.

  but he knew that he would only be dead for three days and that afterwards he would get reserected and be able to mind f**k around with those who had put him to death.

  and then he would live for ever in a brand new body!

  • FIRST OF ALL--- Jesus at the time of his death (and before) KNEW ALL THINGS... His memory was fully restored, he knew who he was, where he came from, EVERYTHING about his life in heaven as Gods Son-Co-creator, He was a Super Being in the form of man. When he was baptized Gods spirit came upon him and said "This is my Son, the beloved, whom I have approved."

  • So lets not compare Him, with humans who know nothing but were told, have no super powers, were never angles or any other life form. And no memories of that time that we could reflect on to know what to expect if we performed up to expectations...

  • Don't get me wrong I'm not diminishing just putting it in perspective.

  my wife saw shunning first hand

  well the other day we dropped daughter back to her mother, after what was a fabulous whole week with me.. sitting on the verandah of the house is grandpa jw, about 80 and recently widowed.

  now, he is my ex father in law and we got on very good back in the day, even helped build his house.. anyway, i drop daughter off and i am looking at the man, who in the whole 10 mins that he sat there, gave one cursory glance our way as i stood on the footpath opposite the house talking to my kids.. this is a guy who will talk the leg off a chair, a guy who will start a conversation with a total stranger in the street, the man is a talker.. i mention to wife as we departed..."poor bastard, not even 'allowed' to say hello the father of his grandkids''.

  if i was not d/f i know he would have come over, no doubt whatsoever.

  Their actions remind me of my dealings with hardened racists and bigots. By shutting their minds and hearts to others due to their unreasonable fears and prejudices, they impoverish themselves. Witnesses are no different in that respect. Quendi

  This is spot on in my opinion...I say hello and talk to several that are 'DF'd' where I work...how weak minded I was to allow this kind of control over me.

  • As John Pinette says "I say NAY NAY".... No more undue control over me, we've been taking control back for 2 years now. Although not DF'd but considered very spiritually weak, and some will shun us openly others do not.
  • You can't lose (true) friends... you never had in the first place...

  Yes OZ when this is witnessed first hand it is more likely to have a negative effect for they would like to accomplish.

  Very tiny change to Service Meeting Announcements protocol.

  for those who want to keep up with the "pure language", i found out this week that at the most recent elder's school, they were told that the announcements should no longer include the following:.

  1. name of public talk and speaker for sunday.

  2. synopsis of all the parts that are coming up on the rest of the service meeting.

  • This is why I now refer to people with the words like: "your toilet paper" instead of "Ass Wipe" or "Richard Cranium" instead of "DickHead or DickBrain"...I'm really trying hard to be politically correct :) wouldn't want to offend anyone.

  thanks: Blondie...my Mom just Im me and said "the study really made her examine herself, and how one can sure put oneself above Jeh's thinking on situations. And how she was really going to pray to Jeh for help"---I feel so sad for her but she in in her late 70s and I don't know if she will benefit from the "real truth". Some things do bother her but she feels that this is Gods Org. To wake up and realize you wasted your whole life...not sure if that is even something that I would want at 78 years old.

  Wt 2006 May 15 p.22: 8 During the final period of the “ancient world” that perished in the Flood, Noah was a faithful “preacher of righteousness.” (2 Peter 2:5) In these last days of the present system of things, Jehovah’s people are making known God’s righteous standards and are declaring good news about the possibility of surviving into the new world. (2 Peter 3:9-13) Just as Noah and his God-fearing family were preserved in the ark, survival of individuals today depends on their faith and their loyal association with the earthly part of Jehovah’s universal organization (???) where's the scriptural backing???

  Wt 1989 Sept.1 p.19: 7 Only Jehovah’s Witnesses, those of the anointed remnant and the “great crowd,” as a united organization under the protection of the Supreme Organizer, have any Scriptural hope of surviving the impending end of this doomed system dominated by Satan the Devil...

  Wt 1983 Feb.15 p.12: Similarly, Jehovah is using only one organization today to accomplish his will. To receive everlasting life in the earthly Paradise we must identify that organization and serve God as part of it.

  • Where's the scriptural backing for the above statements? The ones that are quoted do not back up the thought Jw's are presenting.
