Feeling really sad

my husband and i have been married for almost 10 years.

we were married really young, and tried to make the best of it.

recently, i began listening to my lingering doubts and realized i've been so unhappy because i was living a lie.

i was having trouble paying attention, as there weren't enough seats, so i was sitting behind the curtain so i couldn't see the speaker.

i kept thinking about the wizard of oz "pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

" anywho...the attendants has blocked off some of the balcony seating because the sound apparently wasn't great.

How to explain blood fractions are still blood to someone who doesn't agree...

does anyone have a good analogy or something i could use to help explain to my husband that blood fractions are still blood?

he feels that it gets to a point where it's not blood anymore.

Day 1 of the convention

here's a brief recount of things that stood out to me this year upon my awakening...probably old hat for most of you.

the first experience i heard was from a sister who was afraid to speak to her fleshly sisters about "the truth" and her conscience was really bothered.

she felt horrible that they were going to die unless she shared the "truth" with them.

Brief elders visit! Ack!

yesterday, my husband and i were having a dub over for dinner and i went to the door thinking our friend was there.

surprise!

2 elders were there instead and i was scared.

Can I ask elders a question without getting in trouble?

recently i found no scriptural evidence to support 607 or therefore 1914. and the new overlapping generation really bothers my conscience because i don't see how it is scripturally supported.. .

if i write a letter to bethel, or talk with local elders, i am afraid of getting df'd because i don't want to cause family conflict (with my spouse's family, not mine).

i asked my spouse if it would be ok if i talked with an elder because i want answers, but don't want to cause family problems.

Am I the only one who thought the GB was 100% correct when they were a JW?

a few months ago i began researching my doubts on the internet about the wtbts and i came across a bunch of crazy facts.

this helped me realize this isn't "the truth.".

when i was growing up, i believed the society was always right, and we needed to obey what was in the publications.

Anyone watch Oprah about Tony Alamo's child brides?

it was so sad to see these children raised in a crazy religion and abused by their preacher (tony alamo).

what was more disturbing was how similar some things were to jws, such as blaming the victim instead of the abuser.. one child bride made an escape from tony and ran away from his house, running for 2 miles before she reached the home of a complete stranger and asked if they could help her.

they let her stay the night and gave her money for a bus ticket to her mother in california.

Anyone get divorced because of differing beliefs?

lately my husband has been miserable, but isn't talking.

he is really upset that he is "stuck with me" now that he knows i question my beliefs.

i thought we could explore the bible together and i hoped he would come to the same conclusion as me, but he won't do that.

i've seen the light that the "truth" isn't the truth, but my husband is an avid believer.

unfortunately i realized this after we had a baby.
