Facebook privacy settings are crucial to control your info!!
by WingCommander ini just thought i'd start this topic about facebook privacy settings as i am seeing it come up on here and other forums a lot where you have people who are on facebook and then their jw family or friends are requesting to be friends with them and they don't know what to do!!
we are hearing it time and time again: you "friended" some jw family member, long-ago pioneer partner, etc, etc.
that person then goes through your facebook profile and sees everything you've written, your photos of you and your new life including holidays, partners, worldly activities, etc, etc.

Okay, I'm trying to figure out this "Groups" thing. I have 3 groups, A List, Family, Limited Access. How do I set each one up with what these groups can view? I'm having a brainfart, I can't find it on FB at the moment.

Question about an elder visit at home...
by paranoid inlast meeting my father was asked what a good day/time would be for the whole family to be present at home by one of the elders.
i haven't exactly been behaving within jw 'standards' so i'm a bit paranoid (sn ;]) a friend suggested it's probably just the visits they do (forget the name in eng.
) and as our co visit is in about 2 weeks it makes sense.... could they possibly be coming to confront me about my actions though?

Deny everything. I'm assuming your coworker you had a thing with was 'worldly' so at best, you'll get private reproof ONLY if it is confirmed by a second witness. However, if you admitted anything to the witness that confronted you on what they saw, you're backed into a corner.

the amount demanded is now more than 57 million euros (more than $79,000,000 usd), which far exceeds the assets of the association.the echr took note of the fact that throughout the court proceedings within france, jehovahs witnesses had consistently maintained that the contested tax was a direct attack on their religious freedom.
in fact, it had been imposed on them within the context of the france governments fight against so-called sects.

If this goes through and France wins the case, this is just the begining of other governments catching on and seeing a cash cow that needs to be taken to slaughter.

I know what you mean. I ride with my high beams on during the day, wear bright jacket/helmet and always move ahead of the cager crowd on the freeway or pass on highways. People still don't care about motorcyclists, they have the "I'm in a cage, they're not, I'll be fine, they'll be dead" mentality.
The best defense is a good offense, especially on a bike.

I disagree that information is a bad thing. Information is a good thing. What's bad is the prejudices we have that use this information. Like your example above in disproving the bible, if you only look at one side of the story, then it's the process that's flawed, not the information itself.
The WTS rhetoric on not looking at outside sources that put them in a bad light saying it's evil, demonic, etc on one hand, yet cherry picking outside sources to put them in a positive light. That is misinformation, lying, dishonesty and fraudulant. To say the least.
The internet has a wealth of information, it's just sifting through it that can get tedious.
