We quit when my kids were in college, so we are all out which is cool, but its hard to live with the guilt of what I have done to them.

this morning i get a frantic call from my sister (who has been baptized 1 year and one month and never attends meetings anymore).
in tears she tells me that this morning my father picked her up in the car and told her that i was am apostate.
that i no longer loved jehovah and that i was going to be disfellowshipped.
Be strong, you will be happier in the end.
When you mentioned the phone calls it reminded me of when everyone found out we were not coming back.
I own my own retail business and witnesses who I never saw in my store were parading in like crazy like we were some kind of curiosity or something. Very strange. Then it pretty much just stopped, I still have a few come in who actually were customers before we quit.

i was speaking to my sister the other day.
she has faded much quicker than i. she moved on with her life along with her husband and family.
we still talk every day and share our little ditties about life.
Hi! Unlike you I am not holding on. I left the borg six years ago with no looking back. That being said, everyone is different, and what's right for one might not be right for another, and it seems to me that none of us have any room to judge the other. Keeping peace is a big deal and only you can know what to do. As far as your sister is concerned, she clearly cares and I'm sure she loves you very much, but on this subject maybe you could just ask for a little more space and time to make up your mind about how to go about everything.

my latest encounter with my mom has me furious and i needed a place to vent:.
i don't post alot but for anyone who has read any of my posts knows that while i have been struggling for some time, i am still an active jw working towards leaving.. anyway, i got into a car accident yesterday.
fortunately i am well enough to type this up so for that i am greatful.
So sorry for what your going through! I do agree with Hortensia rest and try to take good care of yourself!

... that they actually have more of a desire to get to knoww you then jehovah's witnesses.
for years at the kingdom hall although i was an elder everyone "knew of me" but no one knew me.
i realized that i never really had a friend who knew anything about me as a person or my background.
I would say that there were some in our old hall of years ago who were decent, sincere human beings, although mislead, but most were completely phony and insincere. It's so good to be out and free!
