i gave blood as planned yesterday, and it weren't all that bad!
anyone who says it doesnt hurt and feel uncomfortable is telling fibs though!
all that passes relatively quickly, and it's all over within 20minutes at the most.
I got my blood donor card a few months ago. Now I give blood on a fairly regular basis. Just did it last weekend in fact.

P.S. I always thought it would be interesting to have the Associated Jehovah's Witnesses for Reform on Blood People to sponsor a blood drive in one of the major cities the same weekend that the JWs were having a District Convention there. That way they could highlight for the public all of the contradictions in the blood doctrine. They could even say that they are giving blood so that JWs who take blood fractions can receive the stuff they needed even though the JWs are not allowed to give blood for these purposes.
so, i've been sitting at the computer all night long, not really panicked, but definitely disturbed at the thought of what the months to come will entail.. the port-a-cath was "installed" (surgically) on monday, and that was tough.
somehow the lumpectomy last month and even finding out that there was lymph node involvement was okay.
scary, but okay.
before leaving the org were you considered to be a respected member of the jw community?
if you felt that you were, did this make it harder to leave and lose any sense of recognition and importance you enjoyed there?
I had just come back from Bethel when I started to fade. People said that I had been "stumbled" somehow. When I began questioning things etc, I was told that I had the attitude problem and not them and, of course, the questions were all ignored.

does the new pope know what the secret message is all about?
why the silence?
it all started way back in 1916. btw, wasn't that the year charles taze russell died?.
Hi Luna:
Well, in short....the Story of Fatima is what the Church calls private Revelation. This means that Catholics are not required to believe it. However, the Church teaches that private Revelation can strengthen our faith in the public Revelation of Jesus Christ.
At Fatima, three young children had visions of the Virgin Mary. The Virgin Mary shared some visions of the future with them. Evidently, the visions predicted the problems that the Church would have during World War II and also with the Communist gov'ts. The Pope interpreted the 3rd part of the last secret of Fatima to have been a prediction of the assassination attempt on his life and the last seer of Fatima (St. Lucia who died a few months ago) seems to agree with this interpretation.
So, that in a nutshell is what Fatima is all about. The Church obviously approved this private Revelation as being consistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church (public Revelation). One of the main messages of the Virgin Mary at Fatima is that Christians and mankind in general need to pray more and seek forgiveness for the sins of the World.

Hi Gang:
Here is the 3rd part of the secret of Fatima from John Paul II. It is on the Vatican web page:

the first time that i met simon, he was wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with the word "apostate".
it was all spelt out in evil-type letters, in fact it looked suitably demonic.. when i encountered him at another 'fest, his t-shirt slogan simply read: "no!
i will not fix your computer!"..
