I dunno.........sounds more like pornia, not paranormal..........
designs asked: Do any remember the stories from the 60s of hands coming out of TV sets and changing the channels or the flaming voodoo doctors that would appear on the roads in Haiti and freak out Witnesses on the way to Meetings.
Never heard of the 'flaming voodoo doctors' but ya in our area, the hand came out of the TV when some disobedient Dubs were watching either Bewitched and/or I Dream of Jeannie. I also remember hearing the one where some Witness housewife was watching Bewitched and the same thing that popped up in Samantha Stevens' living room suddenly popped up in this sisters' living room. Hearing crap like that scared the holy hell out of me as a child.

Basically, he was saying not to worry about questions concerning false prophecies because we don't go by them anymore......Also he mentioned the importance of the Field Ministry (of course) and how the Good News of the Kingdom has indeed been preached to every Nation.
Sooo, what is the 'good news' that they've been preaching that's so important? Oh wait a minute, isn't it the 'false prophecies' that never materialized?
Let's see: false prophecies + public preaching = False Prophets.

my friend has business cards with her exjw facebook and meetup group info.
the plan is to drop info throughout the convention center.

I was very young but I remember the build-up to it.....one brother in my old congregation actually cautioned everyone that 'we do not know the day or the hour' and was promptly shunned by one and all.

I had an elder say the same stupid thing to me a couple of years ago. I said "I'm pretty sure the Crash of '29 was alot worse than what we're going through right now. We have on average, about 9%-10% unemployed. In the '30s, it was 25% unemployed and there was no such thing as Unemployment Insurance to help people out."
He was pissed off at what I said because it didn't fit into his theme subject which of course was "the end is nigh! Come back to the Kingdumb Hall before it's too late!!"
